Offering Love & Very Special Care

Pet care experience

Coming from a farm background, contact with animals, including my dog, was a daily event. Over the years, I have owned, trained, and shown Golden Retrievers and Russian Blue cats. I am a retired environmental professional who now has all the time in the world to focus on your precious pet, giving him/her lots of love and attention. When your dog enters my home, he/she becomes a family member, enjoying lots of mental stimulation, doggy games, and outings that include nearby trails and playtime in the community gated dog park. I have recently raised a seeing-eye Guide Dog for almost two years. This has taught me that intuition is extremely important when I am interacting with your dog. It has also provided me with a special understanding on how dogs react and how to respond to their behavior. My past clients have called me a “dog whisperer”, “dog magician”, “a great dog handler with lots of dog handling wisdom” and “someone who treats their dog like family”.

Ken watched my dog this week while I was on vacation. I really appreciate how intuitive he is with how my dog is feeling. He took my dog on many adventures and even kept her routine very similar (shopping, dog parks). Whenever I leave town, I know she’s in the best hands and really appreciate consistent communication and photos which Ken always provides. I will always use Ken as my sitter because he is simply the best in the area and my dog loves him very much!

Ken went above and beyond to make sure our mini golden doodle puppy was happy and comfortable during her stay. This was our first time boarding our puppy so we were nervous at first. After our meet and greet we were sure Lucy would be just fine with Ken. Lucy stayed with Ken for 3 nights. He sent pictures and updates throughout the day. He also made suggestions for training and gave us some treats and toys when we picked her up.

PRIOR TO OUR MEET AND GREET AT MY HOME CAN YOU PLEASE WALK YOUR DOG. TOO MANY ACCIDENTS! I only accept dogs under 50 lbs. I am 15 minutes SW of the Austin-Bergstrom Airport on E. Slaughter and I-35. I will provide a Check List at our MEET and GREET to record the following information: • Any special needs or specific requirements • Allergies • Current shots • Medications • Feeding instructions • Special toys and treats • Dog's level of energy and temperament • Level of basic command understanding

A typical day

I provide walks in my gated community, and longer trail walks, depending on your pet's needs. There is a gated dog park in our community where your dog can have unleashed activity playing fetch, as well as socialize and play with other friendly dogs, if they accept other dogs. Should a dog owner desire that I spend time with their dog working with some of the basic dog commands, this could also be an option. Of course, feeding and grooming are always in the mix. During your pet’s stay, I will send high-quality, delightful photos of your pet with verbal updates.
