Pet care experience
I grew up with cats and dogs in my family so taking care of animals is nothing new for me. I also have a dog of my own with my partner now that we rescued. I've spent a lot of time dog sitting/house sitting for many people and for many different types of dogs. I've stayed with dogs that have severe fears of fireworks and thunderstorms, during storms and the 4th of July holiday. That has given me the skills required for giving oral medications and providing coping techniques for dogs. I'm familiar as well with electric fences and e-collars if that is something that a fur family uses.

Kelsie has taken care of my pets on many occasions. I currently have two dogs, but Kelsie has also taken care of my cats, ferret, and rat. Currently, Kelsie is my primary pet sitter. She will stay at my house and take care of my two dogs. She is always very involved with them. She will walk them, play with them, and they LOVE to snuggle with her. Both dogs get very excited when they see her because they love spending time with her so I never have to worry when I am gone. Occasionally I will ask her just to check in on them and she will always spend time making sure they go outside and have time to run around. She is AMAZING with animals!
Kelsie came to cat-sit my two kitty cats for 4 days. She took great care of my fur babies! They have a special diet which she adhered to. Kelsie communicated with us when she had questions, which we thought was outstanding. She is polite, prompt, and really cares for the animals! We highly recommend Kelsie!

I'm very flexible to care for client's pets however they would usually care for them to the best of my ability. I want the pets to feel as comfortable as possible, the way that they would normally feel in their space/home. I'm willing to try to adapt to whatever routine would be desired by the family to take care of their pets when time/situation requires help doing so.

I'd love to know ahead of time the level of strictness you have with your dog in terms of walking or playing! I know some people walk their dogs on a short leash and make sure they heel, and I know some people let them wander. I would also like to know if your dog is fixed, house trained or not, and energy level so I can gauge how I need to respond. I'd also love info on how nervous or excited your dog feels about meeting/seeing people. Every dog is different just like humans are. ❤️ I just want to be as consistent as I can be with your pet in the ways that you would be!
A typical day
I love to make sure that dogs stay stimulated throughout the day! I have several parks very close to my house that are a blast to walk through, I live really close to a dog park, and I have a long Kent county trail that runs right behind my neighborhood! All of these places provide lots of stimulation and smells to keep dogs entertained! I'm also more than happy to take dogs out in their own areas and neighborhoods that they're used to walking through. Sometimes its just enough to play outside in your yard and/or take a stroll through your neighborhood :)

Availability
I'm currently working a part time self-employed job, so I have a fairly open schedule. My partner works from home so it's easy to balance care for our dog as well as other family's animals. Most hours of the day throughout the week are very flexible for me.
