I am 24 and my family has owned different breeds of dogs since I was five. We've had shelties and a shih tzu, as well as other breeds when I was really young (unfortunately don't remember the specific breeds). Owning dogs was always something me and my siblings really wanted so we were always in charge of feeding them, taking them out, walking them, giving them companionship and caring for them. The dogs my family owned operated on a strict feeding and bathroom schedule so we could train them to let us know when they were hungry or needed to go outside. Most of our dogs entered our family at the puppy age, so I have experience with different dog ages as well as behaviors.
