100+ foster dogs & still in love!
Pet care experience
I recently started a full-time job and my availability has significantly decreased. I am best for last minute emergencies and if I can, I will help. PET CARE EXPERIENCE- Pre-pandemic, I had rescued and lived with 3 different dogs. Keeper was a 40lbs pointer/lab mix and our family dog. Jovie was a 100lbs German shepherd/English mastiff mix during college/early adulthood. Since the pandemic began, I have fostered over 90 dogs—mostly moms and their puppies. I have experience with all different kinds of dogs ranging in sizes, shapes, and colors— Belgian Malinois, chihuahuas, Great Pyrenees, huskies, pit bulls, staffies, and tons of mega mutts. MY DOGS: Arya a 90lbs Rottweiler that we rescued in 2018 when she was 3. Tarly a 50lbs mega mutt is our first “foster fail.” Winston wasn’t our foster, but from the rescue foundation we work with. He is still growing, but at 9 months old is a 105lbs Saint Bernard. While we own big dogs ourselves, we love them all! I fell in love with fostering and can’t seem to stop, so if you come by for doggy-day-care or boarding you may get to meet our latest mom & her puppies!

We miss you 😢
Kelsey is a gem. She very responsible and trustworthy. She goes above and beyond. I enjoyed working with her.
Kelsey is absolutely the best! She is always on top of all her appointments and makes sure to keep us updated on her timing. She always takes pictures and lets us know how things are going! She loves our doggo so well and he loves her!
We love Kelsey… our secret weapon for an hour of peace and relaxation. And libby’s favorite other person in the whole world. ❤️

SAFETY, TRUST, & ENVIRONMENT- Please feel free to set as many expectations you have for my time with your pet. It’s your pet, what you say, goes! WALKS/DROP-INS: The line between walks and drop-ins are somewhat blurry and I have set my pricing so that they’re very close. I define a drop-in as letting/taking the dog(s) outside to go to the bathroom, but not a leashed walk. Walks can be from the minute I arrive until the minute I leave—we are walking. Or it could be a shorter walk plus playing indoors, feeding your pet, giving them cuddles in your home. Let me know which option works best for you! I am always hyper-cautious while walking and spending time with your pet. I’ll report anything that seems off should I notice it. For my safety and the dogs safety I always have pepper spray with me as well as a flashlight for later evening walks. Lastly, I never want to end up on your neighborhood’s next door or FB page so I will be picking up all of the poop and disposing of it in a proper receptacle! BOARDING/DOGGY DAY CARE: When you walk in, you will know this is a house for dogs, trust me! As an avid HGTV fan, I dislike that we do not have an open floor plan but it works so well with day care and boarding. I will slowly and methodically introduce your dog(s) to ours all on leash and see if any of them are a good fit to get more time together. If it turns out your/my dog(s) doesn’t/don’t seem to want company it’s very easy to give them their own spaces. My attention will be devoted to your pet as mine are in the comfort of their own home and have other humans they can get attention from. Just like our house, our back yard looks like a dog park. It is completely fenced by a 7 ft tall gate and a dead bolted door. Our dogs absolutely love running around in literal circles around our lemon tree. We have ChuckIt balls for fetch, rope toys for tug-of-war, and even a doggy flirt pole! We let our dogs on the couch, but if that is not a habit you want for your pet, we will definitely keep them all off, just let me know! My partner is a nurse and while that doesn’t mean he can medically care for dogs, we have learned over time and experience that human and dog pathology is pretty similar. Our own dogs and foster dogs have needed all different types of veterinary care and he’s been able to detect when things aren’t right early on. ICE: Of course the hope is to never need vet care when checking in on pets, walking them, or boarding them—but after so many fosters I know that, no matter what, it is sometimes necessary. I am comfortable communicating with you if something happens or doesn’t seem quite right when I am with your pet.

Information Kelsey E. would like to know about your pet
I’m happy to learn about your pet however it best suits you. I used to be a teacher and the first day I’d send home to the adults to tell me about the child, “in a million words or less.” I feel the same here, tell me what you think is important! Some logistics questions for each booking type: WALKS/DROP-INS: What are your expectations during my time with you pet? For example, all 30 minutes are spent walking, 10 minutes are spent walking/ 10 spent feeding them/ 10 spent cuddling with them. Where is the best place for me to park? Where is the trash can to dispose of their waste? Where will the dog be when I get there and where do they need to go when I leave? BOARDING/DOGGY DAY CARE: Does your dog get along with other dogs? Where does your dog sleep at your house? Will you be bringing your dog’s crate? How often do you want them walked when they are here? What is their feeding schedule?
A typical day
A TYPICAL DAY- What’s great is in our home, your dog will have plenty of friends. However if they prefer more time alone, we have plenty of rooms where they can have alone time. We have central AC and dog toys when it’s inevitably too hot to be outside. We have a back yard for running around and playing tug of war, with the flirt pole, fetch, or sunbathing! We sometimes bring out the kiddie pool on hot days. When the sun sets it’s a great place for dogs to lounge. Around our house we have both flat and hilly walking surfaces depending on your dogs needs and ability! My favorite place to venture to is Muddy Paw, a dog friendly coffee shop nearby!

Availability
SCHEDULE- Last minute only. WALKS/DROP-INS: I love having a day full of walks and drop-ins. If you send me a booking and I’m working for another family, I will communicate that with you to see if another time works. If not, I can always ask the other family if they are flexible! BOARDING/DOGGY DAY CARE: When I am not headed out on a walk for Rover I am in my home. I occasionally do freelance work remotely. When you book with me, I will let you know what other out-of-the-house obligations I have to make sure your pup can handle the few hours I may be gone. There is a chance that my partner, who works on call, will be here when I step out, so your pup may not be alone even if I am gone for a walk with another dog.
