Pet care experience
Walking dogs on the side of the sidewalk away from cars, picking up any potty breaks, letting them smell all the smells, being dominant and direct to them when another dog is around so they know who’s boss, playing with their favorite toys, giving them treats to show me their tricks, belly rubs, brushing fur, trimming nails, petting kitties, playing with kitties with ball of yarn or string with something on the end, giving a little pile of cat nip for treat, playing with laser pointer with dogs or cats, talking to them, hugging them, taking them to go to the bathroom, wiping their feet if it’s wet outside, reminding their sweet souls their parents will be back soon, making sure they have fresh clean water and they’re caught up on their feeding schedules.

I would love to know first the name of the puppy or kitty I’ll be meeting, their favorite toy in the whole world, their feeding schedule, last time they’ve had a nice brush, if they are shy or sociable, where their favorite seat in the house is so I don’t take it, their tickle spots, where their treats are, any gate or special door instructions, if they have any sensitive bumps to avoid.
A typical day
I’d enjoy taking them on walks throughout the neighborhood for 30 minutes or more, making sure to sniff every smell along the way, peeing on every tree/bush, then when we get back home we can throw their favorite toy until they find interest in something else, play with a laser pointer, talk with them, hug them, all the belly rubs, and head pats, play tag and see who can juke better, look at squirrels and bunnies together, enjoy lots of fresh water.

Availability
Typically I will communicate with my day job manager about when I need to leave to check on a pet I’m sitting when I receive my schedule. A weeks notice is preferred for this very reason.
