Pet care experience
I have taken care of pets since I was a child and I got my first dog at the age of 7 years old. For the past 5 years, I have volunteered at a humane society cleaning equipment, taking dogs for walks and socializing them! I also have studied neurobiology (I majored in it prior to my nursing degree) of dogs and know how happy quality time can make them and the human involved. I have also taken care of an older dog consistently for 5 years, who requires special meds, food, and massages so I am used to being on top of those kinds of schedules. On top of all of this, dogs are my favorite animal and I absolutely love them!

Kelsea cared for my dog for 3 weeks while I was away and for 2 separate overnights before that. I was very pleased. Quick response time throughout. Followed care instructions. Sent detailed updates and photos. Took initiative to make adjustments when my dog showed changes in behavior (e.g. extending his walk time to stimulate his appetite). My dog came home happy and healthy. I'd request her service again. Highly recommended.
My pup had a wonderful time! She was well loved and cared for by Kelsea! I got tons of pictures that I adore! Highly recommend!
Kelsea was great with my dog, Ben who is over 70 lbs and requires so much snuggle time. It was Ben's first time boarding at her house and I can tell he had a wonderful time. I was also updated with many photos. I would definitely contact her again.

There are 3 parks near my apartment and I have a pet-friendly apartment where a dog can have lots of space to roam around. I am very aware of my surroundings when taking dogs out on walks and will be careful they don’t eat anything off the ground or travel too far away from me on the leash. I have also researched dog training and have been through puppy bootcamp with my dog, so I am very aware of training methods and can adhere to any training you may be working on with your pup. I also have experience giving dog baths, clipping nails, and brushing teeth for dogs! Additionally, I have done many dog enrichment activities such as lick mats and toys to keep high energy dogs entertained. All in all, every dog I host or walk will be well-loved with lots of behind-the-ear scratches and attention. My partner, Blake who lives with me, works from home almost every day so he is yet another dog-person to give the pup lots of attention!

It is very helpful for me to know allergies, energy level, treat preference, meal times, and any training that you are currently working on with them. I like to keep up a regular schedule that is as close to the one they have as possible! I also have lots of experience training young dogs and have improved dog walking behaviors and the ability for the pup to take on a calm headspace.
A typical day
I provide all dogs that I care for with walks through multiple parks nearby, playing brain-strengthening games with them, and enrichment activities depending on diet needs and energy level. We also have a big backyard that we can play fetch in and can frequently take the pup out, however frequently they have to go. One of the best places we have gone on a walk is a nearby pumpkin patch during fall, where the pup was able to explore new smells and see all the beautiful leaves!

Availability
I am currently going to nursing school and I am only in person for classes one day per week so I have a lot of available time! I love getting mental health breaks for 1-2 hours per day so this is perfect for me. I already go walking, so I know I have time!
