Pet care experience
We both have had a lifelong love of dogs and feel a home is never complete without at least one pet. After having dogs growing up, we started petsitting in university and continued ever since. We used petsitting as a way to live in and travel throughout New Zealand and Australia and when we moved back to Canada, we opened up our home to our families' and friends' dogs. In early 2020 we decided we were ready for our own fur-baby and adopted Ziggy, a then 5-month old rescue Great Pyrenees-mix from Texas. We have experience in both training puppies and taking care of higher need senior dogs.

Kelly & William looked after our dog Duke (very large and a younger dog) while we were away out of country. They were very responsive and sent us updates/pictures/videos often which was very comforting. Duke seemed to enjoy his time with them and their dog Ziggy on walks and playtime. I would definitely book with them again!
Had a perfect experience with Kelly and William. I needed a dog sitter in a pinch and was happy and fortunate to have found them. They were very kind, great at communication and treated my boy Marshall like he was lounging at home. I've never used a dog sitter from Rover before and was nervous, but upon meeting Kelly and William I felt very comfortable and confident Marshall was in the best of hands. Frequent pictures and message updates were much appreciated. He made himself right at home, had a companion to hang out with and was spoiled and taken on a nice long walks. Hope to be fortunate enough to spoil Marshall with a sleepover in the near future with Kelly and William!
Kelly, William and their sweet dog Ziggy took excellent care of my senior guy. They were so easy to coordinate with and were great with sending updates while I was away. I will absolutely book with them again and feel lucky to have found such caring people!
Kelly was great to coordinate with, and I felt confident I was leaving Decker in great hands! He came home happy after a weekend of play with Ziggy and great care. Would absolutely rebook with them.

Kelly works 100% remote, so is home during the day. We have dedicated space for dogs to sleep, but we also allow them on our couch and bed. Although we live in an apartment, we prioritize time outside every day for exercise and stimulation.

A typical day
Aside from our weekday walks (20 minutes in morning, quick pee outside at lunch, 1-hour walk in the evening), we love to bring dogs on fun weekend adventures. Our favourite places to go are dog-friendly beaches outside the HRM, hiking trails, and some of the off-leash parks in Halifax. Kelly loves going for runs with dogs (ranging from 5-10km), something Ziggy isn't interested in doing. On nice sunny days, we love going to dog-friendly patios :)

Availability
Having a dog is a full-time commitment, one that we love. We try to incorporate Ziggy into most aspects of our lives, since he is a major part of our family. On a work-day, we typically do a 20 minute neighbourhood walk in the morning, a quick bathroom break at lunch time, and at least an hour long walk after work, either around the downtown area or at a park. On weekends we have more time for exploring and outdoor activities, so we bring Ziggy for walks on trails, beaches, or other dog-friendly parks.
