Drop ins: Whenever I take care of dogs I drop in for at least 30 minutes, feed them, make sure they have plenty of water, take them out, and play with them and their favorite toys (fetch, tennis balls, tug of war). I give them my complete attention when I am there so they feel safe and happy. Walk: I am very active and athletic. I pay attention to the dog and gauge how they are feeling and make sure that they have plenty of opportunities to go to the bathroom along the walk. If it is especially hot, I try to choose a route with adequate shade so that the dog does not overheat. I ensure that they get enough water as well so they stay hydrated.

When scheduling a meet and greet, I always ask where important dog care items are such as their food, treats, poop bags, toys, leashes, and water bowls. I take detailed notes during this meeting. When I arrive to take care of the dog(s) I greet them and pet them immediately 😌

It’s important to know if the dog has any medications, the training style of the dog is key as well. Also, if there are any specific behaviors that the dog does that they should not do (jumping, barking, etc).
A typical day
When doing a drop-in, I first greet the dogs and pet them. I love seeing their faces light up when they see me ?. Then I take them outside to go to the bathroom, then we come back inside for fun playtime with their toys. When doing a walk: I greet the dogs and pet them, make sure they have a chance to get some water before we leave. Then I leash them up and head outside in the neighborhood. I make sure they have plenty of opportunities to go to the bathroom, and keep a close eye on their needs.
