Pet care experience
Hey, my name is Kelly and I was a volunteer at the Edmonton humane society for over two years, before moving to Red deer in 2018. Since then I have volunteered with a couple animal shelters as a foster home for stray dogs. As such, I can not take any dogs into my house that are not fully vaccinated. I grew up walking dogs in my neighborhood for elderly and busy neighbors, and have probably read more dog books than most people would know existed. I work full time Monday-Friday, but love to spend my weekends and evenings surrounded by all the animals. My dog Cricket loves to help me out with dog sitting and fosters- but she tends to get a bit stressed around large dogs. Therefore i only accept dogs under 40lbs for the time being. I can offer discounts for long stays. Send me a message and hopefully we can work something out 😃
Reviews
Went above and beyond in her cat visits. I only expected a quick check on food and water, but she stayed and cuddled my cat for the whole 30 minutes. Great job, would recommend.
Kelly is fantastic with dogs. She gives every dog her unconditional love, and they love her right back. Kelly has 2.5 years of experience volunteering at the Edmonton Humane Society, she is trusted by her friends to dog-sit, and has spent the better part of her life learning how to responsibly care for all kinds of dogs. Your best friend will be safe with her!

Information Kelly S. would like to know about your pet
Let me know how much and how often to feed your pet. As well, if your dog has some separation anxiety- please let me know, and bring their bed from home to help them settle in. As well, If your dog loves to chew, please send one along! I've found getting to chew and lay on their own bed, can really help a dog feel comfortable in a new location.
A typical day
I walk dogs before and after work, as well as a short walk before bedtime. I make sure they get out into the yard over lunch. I love to walk the trails around Rotary Park.

Availability
I work 8-5 M-F, with an hour for lunch which I go home for. We have a finished basement filled with dog toys, beds, and a crate if needed. I keep my own dog upstairs in the bedroom when I'm not home, as I prefer to keep them separated- especially for shorter stays.
