Puppy Dog Heaven

Pet care experience

We have a very pet friendly home with a big fenced in back yard. We have a sliding door that we leave open in the summer and are letting pups in and out of constantly when it isn't nice enough to be left open. We have a daughter Zoey (7 will be 8 end of Aug) that absolutely loves dogs and has grown up with our 80lb lab Lance pushing her around. (We had to put our Lance down July 2 2019, which is the hardest decision I have ever had to make.) We did just get a new puppy that was born on June 20,2020 a red Labrador retriever names Skye. Zoey loves helps take care of the dogs, feeding, throwing the ball, giving lots of love and cuddles to all dogs that she meets. She makes sure they have enough toys and usually loves to have them on her bed (a mattress on the floor in her room) and cover them with blankets if they like it. Every night she gives every dog a hug before bed. We do not allow the dogs upstairs at night. Zoey is scared to have hers and our door closed and since she prefers her lower bed that is a mattress on the floor we don't want dogs walking around and waking her up. We do have a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. We are comfortable administering medication to your pup, orally and even injections. VCA emergency care is about 1 mile away and they are excellent, we can personally attest. Kelly works from home on Wednesday and Friday. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday James leaves around 8:30 and Kelly is home at 3pm. When a dog stays with us, they become part of the family. We try our best to make our home their home! Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs my whole life, Lance was my first dog and he was/is still a major part of the family. My husband James has had dogs all his life. Any dog that comes into our house is treated as one of the family. They bring our family and especially our daughter such joy and excitement and love meeting new friends! About my yard We have a fully fenced in backyard and lots of tennis balls and chuck-its. When the weather is nice we just leave the door open and they can go in and out as much as they like. Our yard has a slope to it so if your dog is older and doesn't do well with stairs, there is a way to get into the house or too the bottom level outside. There are 2 steps up to the back deck but every dog that we have watched, including Lance whose back legs were really bad near the end and did not have an issue with it. My experience administering medication We are comfortable administering shots or pills as we have had to do it for past pets. We get up at 5:15, let the dogs out. We work out then feed them all separately around 7am. Zoey catches the bus at 8:15 and then I am home with them all day. I do work upstairs but I take breaks and let them out if they want at least every hour during the rainy time. The rest of the year the back slider is open and they have access to the backyard. They are feed separately dinner around 5:30pm and we are all in bed by 8:30pm. I have a big fenced in backyard. We have lots of dog toys inside and outside. The dogs are allowed out as much as they want and are also welcome most places in the house while I am working upstairs. We are up at 5am to work out and let the dogs out then. We feed them after around 7am all separately. They are let out again if they need. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday James is the last to leave at 8:30 and Kelly gets home at 3pm. The rest of the days Kelly is home. They are fed dinner between 5-5:30 and let out before we go to bed at 8:30. We have a fully fenced in yard with a tall fence that dogs can't get out of. They are only in the yard when we are home and if we are gone they will be in the house. If they are used to a crate then they will go in their crate but otherwise if they are used to being left just in your home then that is how they will be. We have extra dog beds for their comfort along with dog toys and chew toys.

Nala had a great time at Kelly’s while I was on a trip. Kelly sent updates every day and was very communicative. Nala came home tired and happy!

So grateful! My dog is cared physically and mentally. The daughter is also so caring towards my dog. I completely trust them. They even gave medications to my dog, during my two week trip away. I received photo updates to reassure me as well. There’s other dogs there, so she has company , but not too many either. I can’t say enough there excellent care.

Information Kelly M. would like to know about your pet

We want to know where they sleep, what their day normally looks like, if there are any things that we should know (like are they a chewer) or things they don't like, how they eat (are they supper fast or graze all day), what they love doing. The more info you give us the better we can make them feel at home!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We go for walks around our neighborhood on weekends sometimes, but mostly just hang out at the house since we have such a big backyard. Your dog's sleeping arrangement They will sleep in their own separate room, just bring their bed and there is always plenty of room. We usually go to bed around 9:30pm and then I am up at 5:30-6am.
