I grew up on a farm with lots of dogs and cats throughout my life (and also hamsters). I currently have a 5 lb papillon and a 10 lb toy aussie who love to play and are picky eaters. I trained both of them (house-training, manners, a little agility, and several commands/tricks). I would especially love to take care of puppies! I have administered medication and I vaccinate my own dogs. I fostered a neglected, abused dog before (3 months) who had extreme anxiety and fear of humans. She made huge improvements in behavior and socialization by the end (the rescue group didn't even recognize her!). I am a microbiome researcher who works from my home office often and am looking to get out of the house! I am open to recurring or one-time visits. Currently I am only planning on going out for walks and doing drop-in visits. I would like to eventually do doggie daycare or boarding to help my dogs make friends. However, I would want to have a playdate with the dog and owner present beforehand. My house has a fenced back yard, lots of toys, and some agility obstacles.
