Long walks to med care? I’m there
Pet care experience
I’ve done everything from fostering to multi-hour walks in the woods, living at a client’s house with their pet to dropping by for a check-in and medication administration. Bathing, playtime, even litter box maintenance, sign me up for all of it! I’ve had my own pet chickens, cats and a dog :) I pride myself on responsible pet parenting/care and since right now I don’t have any beasts of my own, I have so much animal love just waiting to be spent on pampering your pet. I’ve been pet sitting locally for four years now, but am looking to expand my reach through Rover. I’m also in college part time, not sure between majoring in life science or art.
Reviews
Kelly is an amazing pet, house sitter. She did a wonderful job with my puppy. It was very reassuring when she checked in with me a couple times during the day just to let me know the situation, and how my puppy was adjusting to being watched.
Kelly was fantastic to our pets and we are SO grateful! She was thorough in her questions leading up to house sitting and treated our pets with so much care when she met them. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short and Kelly was extremely accommodating and understanding. I am looking forward to booking with Kelly in the future.
Kelly provided drop in visits for our three cats while we were away and did a great job. She had great communication too!
Kelly was great with my dog Rocky. She is great at communicating and sending updates! I will absolutely be using Kelly again!!

I love working with both dogs and cats, and am able to provide day-care, walks of any length, drop-in visits and cat sitting. I am also able to provide transportation to appointments such as to the vet or groomer. I’m open to caring for animals with medical conditions and special needs as well. If you have any questions or requests please let me know! Dog walking is definitely my favorite activity, and when I arrive at a client’s home I open the door safely, leash and greet the pup and head out. Making sure the dog gets adequate fresh water after the walk (or also during, I can bring a bottle if needed) is super important, as is re-crating upon arrival if that’s what the owner instructs. My priority is always safety so I stay very aware of any cars, bikers, kids, and other dog walkers that are around. My old rescue dog Maxx unfortunately had a lot of past trauma, so he became very reactive whenever another dog was around. However this means I have a lot of practice distracting/redirecting the dog and keeping distance or changing directions in order to maintain a safe environment for everyone. Also, I never use my phone on walks and only bring it in case of an emergency. I strive to create the most enjoyable time for my doggie clients, and the first step is always safety, but other than that I love having fun with them and going their favorite routes and playing their favorite games. I strive for good open communication with pet parents about what they and their pet need, like, dislike, are afraid of, and anything else that is important to providing the best care. I like sending my clients updates about what happened during the visit and any behaviors/medical concerns that they should be aware of, and cute pictures of their fur baby to brighten their day. I can provide boarding in a limited capacity, and have no animals or young children at my house. I live in a quiet neighborhood in Barrington, and although my backyard isn’t fenced, I do have a 30 foot tie out cable that allows for supervised fetch and playtime.
Information Kelly G. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pup has any medical needs or has any triggers that I should be aware of. That way your baby gets the best care and we can maintain the safest environment for everyone!
A typical day
I love to do what my furry clients love to do. Sometimes Fido doesn’t know fetch and that’s okay, so we’ll play tug or toss a toy around. I like to ask my clients what they recommend and what to avoid. Personally, walking in the woods is one of my favorite places, which is great since there’s a trail about a 15 minute walk from my house.
