Vet Tech here to help YOU!
Pet care experience
Hi there! :) I am Kelly, a semi “retired” Licensed Vet Tech with over 31 years experience working with animals. Now an empty nester (and a Grandma) with more time on my hands, I miss helping animals -and their humans- each day. I am well versed in behavior issues, obedience training, and animal nutrition. As a Veterinary professional, I remain calm and in control if an emergency or medical need that may arise. I am also trained in CPR + First Aid, but hope to never use it on your pet. If you have an elderly pet that needs medications, I got you! Shy kitty? I love them! I enjoy ALL animals including cats, dogs, and exotics and have experience caring for many different types of pets. I am a very active person, and enjoy walking in nature as well as daily exercise. I would love to meet YOUR pet(s) and help while you are away. Please reach out with any questions or special requests.

Kelly's advanced skills helped me with three special circumstances beyond usual dog care. The first one was when I had newborn puppies. I wanted extra attention when I was gone to work. Kelly came to my home morning, noon & evening for momma and her babies. She sent me photos and logged their weights. Kelly also helped with a dog recovering from surgery. He required meds and monitoring for any signs of distress. She tenderly gave him comfort. When my old girl was in her teens she had special needs. Besides her meds, she needed extra guidance as her sight & hearing diminished. Sometimes she'd get confused and need Kelly's reassurance that all was well in her world. Thank you Kelly for loving my dogs!!
I met Kelly when she worked at a veterinary clinic that I brought my cats and dogs to about 13 years ago. I only wanted to go to the clinic when she was working she is that wonderful with my animals. About 2 years ago my cat Maxine needed a tooth removed and needed to take meds after the surgery. My family and I would be out of town and Maxine needed her meds. Kelly was able to not only give Maxine her meds but I knew I had a trustworthy person in my home. She will love on your fur-babies like they are her own.
Kelly is an amazing dog/pet sitter. She took fantastic care of my two dogs - one of which had a previous injury. While we were gone my little diva re-injured herself. Kelly gave us frequent calls, photos and updates. Her vet-tech experience was a huge asset in knowing what to do in helping my dog. Her care helped my dog heal & definitely eased my mind while on vacation. I highly recommend Kelly to anyone.
I know it gets thrown around without thought, but after a few sittings, I can confidently say that Kelly is excellent and worth the cost. I would consider her services an exceptional value. First, she is quick to respond to your messages, never allowing them to go unnoticed for longer than half a day. Second, she knows what she's doing. My dog's not the best with strangers and she overcomes the difficult obstacle to make him feel at home when we're away. Last, she keeps us in the loop, like a baby monitor, shooting us photos and videos of them at play to put our mind at ease. I could go on but I hope this is enough for you to consider her on your next sitting needs.

What is your pet's typical daily routine? Likes/dislikes? What commands or hand signals does your dog respond to? Is there anything that you are trying to teach him? Describe your pet's personality. How do you make your pet feel comfortable when he is acting shy? What is your favorite activity to do with your pet? Fave game? What is your pet's favorite activity to do when you are home? Fave toy? Does your pet have any medical issues or allergies that I should be aware of? What is your preference if there is an emergency with your pet while I am caring for him?
A typical day
We live in an outdoor playground! Here in Washington, there are so many parks, trails and areas for dogs to explore, smell the smells, get some exercise and get their happy on! Play for younger (or young at heart) dogs is so very important to keep their brain active - I love having different games to play with dogs to keep them engaged in their life and thriving. In our area, I enjoy visiting Chambers Bay Running Trail, Point Defiance Park, Bradley Lake Park, Point Ruston and Wapato Park for outdoor adventures.
