Pet care experience
Growing up, my family always had a dog & at least one cat in our household. So pet caretaking feels like second nature to me, and I've had experience caring for animals of all different ages from young puppies/kittens through to their final days. I rescued my last dog when he was about 1 year old, and I originally started pet-sitting on Rover to entertain him while I worked during the day! In his last couple years, he was diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome which required daily medication and close frequent monitoring by a specialist vet. I also have experience administering insulin injections & IV fluids in both cats and dogs. My current dog, Jasper, was rescued 12/24/2022. I took a break from Rover for several months while he acclimated to his new home and we worked on basic behavioral training, to make sure he could be the best-behaved young pup host possible! Previously residing in the quiet residential neighborhood of Cobble Hill in Brooklyn for 14 years, I relocated to Beacon in 2020, where I share a split-level home with my mother (a retired teacher who also has several rescue pets of her own). Our home has a large fenced backyard with lots of toys, plentiful access to water, and a screened pet door for running in & out safely. I also have a pet-friendly personal vehicle for pick-ups/drop-offs when required

Fred has had a great time. Will book again!
Kelly did an amazing job watching my fur baby! Sent regular picture updates, and Bronson had fun playing with her dog! Highly recommend.
Kelly comes through in a big way! Thanks Kelly.
Thanks so much Kelly!

Information Kelly B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog ever has issues with certain types of dogs (larger or smaller, male or female, puppies or overly active breeds), as I occasionally watch dogs from different families at the same time and want to avoid booking potentially conflicting personalities on the same days.
A typical day
First thing in the morning, Jasper runs a bit outside in the backyard, then we go on a walk around the neighborhood or in Long Dock Park with my mother and her senior dog. After our walk, he gets breakfast (he's fed 2x daily). There's always at least one large bowl full of water available in the home at all times. We typically take another walk around our quiet residential neighborhood (I live a few blocks past The Roundhouse) in the early afternoon, and again around sunset. He has free access to the backyard through a screened pet door and I take several short breaks throughout the work day to play out some of the puppy energy.

Availability
I am a self-employed remote worker with a very flexible daytime schedule. So I'm able to accommodate pets of all different needs or temperaments, and I often multitask by taking calls while on walks or tossing a toy around in the backyard.
