Pet care experience
I have a lifetime of love, care and experience to offer, having had animals since age 12, and I am now 58. I also volunteered for many years at the SPCA, taking care of the dogs there. I dealt with dogs of every breed, type and temperament, loving and caring for them and taking them out to walk/play, not to mention feeding and cleaning up after them. My husband Barry and I have experience with special needs dogs as well, having had a diabetic dog that required insulin shots twice a day and periodic blood sugar testing that we did for her at home. Animals are more than a passion...giving love and care to those in need is really a calling for me. My husband has supported me in this calling for the 31 years we have been married and is such great help with all the animals! We live on 5 acres that is fenced, so there is room to run and play for a dog staying with us in our home...just needs to be compatible with other dogs and cats. All but one of our dogs/cats are rescues. We have 4 dogs ranging in ages from 7 months to 16 years. We also have 4 cats, 2 inside and 2 indoor/outdoor. We have a horse as well.

Leaving our little puppy in someone’s hands is always difficult for me, but after meeting Kelli I felt so confident that he was in good hands. The updates were so comforting. I really feel they cared for him as one of their own. It is so nice know Duke was so well cared for!
My pup was literally in the best hands with Kelli Jo and Barry. They both have such a big heart for animals (and people), and my pup, Nova, seemed to feel instantly at home over there. They followed all specials instructions, and Kelli Jo was awesome with communication and pictures. She made me feel as though nothing I requested was a burden or a problem. Shoot, I could have asked Kelli to pet Nova nonstop for 20 hrs/day and I bet she wouldn’t have even batted an eyelash 😂 Nova was never bored and got to roam the house, wander around the giant yard, hang with their rescue dogs, play lots of fetch and cuddle with Barry during the evenings. They were flexible and allowed me to change my pickup time when my travel plans changed. Nova hopes I will go on another vacation soon, so she can stay with Kelli Jo and Barry... and that’s exactly where I’ll take her!

We have no breed preferences but the temperament of the pet and any special needs or issues is important to know. If staying overnight in our home, the pet needs to get along with other dogs/cats as we have our own. The dog also needs to be housebroken and current on vaccines and flea treatment/preventative. We have a great place to run and play when going outside together.
A typical day
We have 5 acres; about half that pasture for our horse. The property is fenced. Can play fetch and run and take walks on or off property.

My schedule can vary as I have some work I do on the side in addition to pet sitting. But all pets we tend to will get the love and attention they need and deserve!
