Traveling Pet Services, LLC

Pet care experience

I have been a licensed veterinary technician for 20+ years. Even after all these years, I still love all animals. I have worked with most species of domesticated pets and farm animals. I have owned and managed horses, goats, chickens, and ducks. I have worked with dogs, cats, and small furries, such as rats, chinchillas, hamsters, and gerbils, not only in a clinical setting, but at my home as well. I love working with brand new pet owners with their newly adopted puppies and kittens. I can educate people on vaccine protocols, and start conditioning pets for veterinary exams. Geriatric pets are also a great love of mine. I can help with mobility issues, among other older animal problems, to help them live a quality life in their older years. My services will include pet sitting/light grooming/exercising for dogs as well as horses. I can help with medical treatments, with your veterinarians consent, of difficult to medicate animals, and even clean your small furries cages if need be. I plan to be available to help with transportation to veterinary and grooming appointments as well. If its pet related, I am willing to help with whatever you need.

Kelley is amazing! She is so knowledgeable and intentional with her business and truly cares for the animals that stay with her. Wally had a fantastic time with her and her pups and I felt confident that he was in good hands. He was so relaxed on the way home from his stay with Kelley- it was like a little pup vacation for him!

Kelley was a fantastic sitter for our three dogs. I am always nervous leaving them but she made me very comfortable, having a fenced yard, doggie door, and having them with her in her cozy house. I will definitely be using Kelley in the future!

We were so happy to have Maisie stay with Kelley! First, Kelley was happy to feed her the various food items we sent (in addition to actual dog food); we really appreciated her attention to those kinds of details. Maisie got to interact with other dogs and Kelley supervised their meeting and interacting before they were allowed to just hang out together to make sure everything was going to go well with the various personalities. Finally, Kelley sent photos throughout the stay to reassure us that things were going well! (For the record, we weren't worried, we had met her prior to the visit, and felt grateful for the level of care Maisie would receive.

Kelley is a very caring, trustworthy and experienced caregiver. She took great care of our dog and was very attentive to his needs! We also really appreciated that she took the time to send regular updates and photos, which gave us peace while away. We are already planning the next stay with her. We are thankful to have Kelley as a sitter and definitely recommend her!

If I am looking after your pet in my home, I have several sizes of crates and kennels, if that is what your pet is comfortable with. I also have a large outdoor kennel connected to a run with grass and a tree for shade. I do have a room inside my home dedicated to over night stays as needed. I will not let a pet stay outside overnight, unless it is specifically asked for. If your dogs get along well with other dogs, they will have free access to the house and main yard. They will also have the opportunity to learn how to use a doggie door if they don't already. If I am needed for watching other pets and/or farm animals at your home, I can be available to come out twice daily, if need be, to take care of chores that need to be done.

Information Kelley H. would like to know about your pet

I do need to know any special needs your dog may have including allergies and any special diet they may be on. This is so I can offer treats without having to worry about an allergic reaction. I do ask that you bring your own food to avoid stomach upset, as well as toys and bedding to make them feel more comfortable. I am also very comfortable administering any medication your pet may need. I do require that vaccines be up to date with documentation. Core vaccines I require are Rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella. While I am aware that Bordetella is not a core vaccine, I do require it for their safety, as well as, my own dogs safety. My own dogs are all vaccinated as well. I do also suggest the Leptospirosis vaccine, as I live in a wooded area where wildlife does wander in from time to time. I highly recommend flea and tick prevention as well so that we may avoid any infestation of these unwanted parasites.

A typical day

I treat any new coming pet like part of the family with walks through the woods, playing fetch if that is their thing, and just general exercising with day to day activities. If they are high energy, we may go for a run, but for the most part we stay at home and do daily chores that need to be done here, which the animals are always apart of.

I have now officially retired from my veterinary “in clinic” work and plan on doing mobile pet care and dog boarding full time as the need arises. I can now devote all of my time to helping others with their animals. My husband works from home now, as well, and if I need to be gone for any reason, he does help out with the animals.
