Pet care experience

Hello fur mums and dads! I’m a super fun, protective and fiercely loyal friend and rescue dog mom of two beautiful boys and a spoiled baby girl pup. It doesn’t matter if your fur babies have attitude, are high maintenance, loves to chill and be lazy - I have seen it all (and I love it)! I have been doing this for over 3 years now and I know and follow all Rover guidelines, I am hyper-aware of your homes security and will go the extra mile to leave your home the same or better than I came to find it! That’s MY guarantee. As per my client reviews, I really do care about pets (and their people) and I like to build that rapport with you and your family. I have experience working with dogs who have special needs such as tri-pawds (dogs without a limb), mesoesophogas, diabetics, dogs who are post-operation, and those with diet and medication requirements. I love seniors and puppies alike, and I believe in positive reinforcement and consistency. I will make sure to follow whatever you/your families bathroom/walking/feeding schedule, as to not throw your pet for a loop. Pets can be very adverse to change, especially when their humans are away, so I’d truly love to have the chance to be your go-to gal for care! If you need someone to just drop in and take your babe to get their “zoomies” out, or someone to sit and distract your anxiety riddled dog - I love to do it all. I know life gets in the way of being the “perfect dog parent” - sometimes you’re stuck with overtime, maybe shift work; or there’s family emergencies and family engagements - maybe even a long weekend out of town - whatever the case may be, please don’t hesitate to give me a shout. Day or night, anytime! I have a clean criminal record, a reliable vehicle, valid (and clean) driving record to transport your animals (if needed) AND I am Dogsafe Canine First Aid Certified. I’m also an approved foster parent for the North Cariboo District BCSPCA and the PG Humane Society. Please know your sweethearts will be in very competent, caring hands during your time of need!

Keisha is an amazing sitter, I had been searching for someone with amazing reviews as well as experience with sitting, and I found the perfect person! She left the house wonderfully clean - which is a great because it becomes a total dog house once I leave for work. She checked in with me lots to make sure my doggies were happy/healthy, send lots of pictures, and kept me posted on her and the boys’ status. I will definitely be having Keisha sit my dogs again, she’s so understanding with crazy dogs and really knows how to handle them! Also very professional when it comes to booking with her, which gives a whole other level of comfort when having a new person in your home!

We didn’t want to leave our dog in a boarding kennel because we were afraid he wouldn’t do well with long periods alone. Luckily Keisha was able to look after him in our home to minimize any anxiety. We came back to a clean house and a very happy dog! Thank you Keisha

Once again Keisha has done a wonderful job. We will definitely have her back again if it works for her. P.S. Deogee says “ hi Keisha “.

Keisha filled in at the last minute, and our fur-babies bonded with her almost immediately. Came home to happy cats and a clean house. What more could you ask for?

Safety, trust & environment

I care for your pets, just as YOU would. I will follow your routine, feeding schedule, sleep schedule, training regimen, etc. as to not cause them an extraneous undue stress or anxiety. This is why meet and greets are so important to me and vital to continuity of care. For dogs staying in my home: I have a beautifully fenced and secure backyard. I have two trained neutered male dogs who are playful, balanced and welcoming. They love to have company and meet new friends. But if your doggo requires a more quiet environment - I have a separate comfortable space with safe and secure crates (both extra large and extra small) at the ready. So you don’t have to worry about lugging out your own! I am proud to say I have gone all out creating a plush, cozy, quiet environment, just for your pet! Complete with dog-friendly TV shows and/or music, ambient lighting, dog-safe aromatherapy and all natural treats and chewies for them to enjoy and gnaw on, if needed.

Information Keisha S. would like to know about your pet

I have NO breed preferences here! I love them ALL! I like to take part in an informal “meet and greet” (done at no charge, at your earliest convenience) before taking on your furbaby and ensuring we all click. I want you, your family and your dog(s) to trust me! I’d want to know what you allow and not allow your dog to do (can they be on furniture and human beds), if your dog likes to chase squirrels or cats (are they prey driven), how are they during fireworks and thunderstorms, do they have a hiding place or special spot I’ll find them in and what your dog likes to do (do they play, do they like to lay around and be petted), can they follow basic commands (sit, stay, high five, shake a paw, rollover, sneeze, touch) etc. PHEW! I just want all of us to vibe and understand your expectations AND what should I expect?

A typical day

When your dogs and I are together, I want to do what THEY want to do (or what YOU want us to do). Whether it’s just a nice, slow jaunt around the neighbourhood for those senior and small dogs who simply need a visit and a pee or a fast-paced trek through our local green-spaces, I will make sure your pet has those ever important active minutes! If your pet(s) simply need to be let out to pee and socialize with me, I will never turn down a good round of fetch or tug of war in your backyard! Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do my best to ensure they’ve worked up an appetite for later, and maybe if we’re lucky, they’ll earn themselves a good long nap! I’m able to transport them to specific locations but I’d rather/prefer to stay in the vicinity of your home, as to help your dog get their bearings and their sniffer situated, if they ever escaped from your care! I like to help plan for those sorts of situations and then hopefully provide a positive outcome.

Pet care is my “full-time” job. I put all of my energy into each of my stays. I worked for Federal Corrections for nearly a decade so providing supervision and community service is in my blood, so to speak. Animals are healing for me and they provide me with joy and unique learning experiences. I take away something from each pet, each stay and each family. Many people notice that I have my own (very big) fur babies and ask if I bring them along, or what I do with them while I’m watching your pets? Well, I’m blessed to have a wonderful, supportive partner who really is a 10/10 dog daddy and takes the best care of them so I’m allowed time away to take the best care of YOURS!
