I started off as a dog walker when I was 16 - 18 for local dogs I met in my hometown. I have worked and volunteered at 2 separate animal shelters, one in Cornwall of which I started a traineeship at. Circumstances changed and I had to move back home but I quickly jumped on board the family business of dog walking and dog boarding untill I moved back into Southampton to settle down with some of my own dogs and cats to raise. I have experience with 3 reactive dogs and believe firmly I'm great at reading dog body language. I am always educating myself on training videos and spoiling my own animals as well as doggies I know with toys and treats! I currently have my own Greyhound who can be super mischievous and keeps me on my toes and often look after a Siberian husky who likes to sing and eat everything. So my range of experience with different breeds is pretty high and I have educated myself over the years about the genetics and traits that come with each breed. Behavioural and physical. I am home full time, so I am very flexible and it's important for me to stay active and help out as much as I can to those who need it. I have 3 cats and 1 dog. Dogs and cats are allowed on all the furniture as I wash the blankets and bedding every few days. The cats have their own separate room with beds and litter trays which I use a baby gate to keep my dog out of. I can close the door as I have done many times to secure my cats inside for dogs who aren't good around cats. I have a fenced back garden which I have to supervise at all time as to access it I need to walk around the the side gate and I have retractable leads if they want to wander in the front unfenced garden whilst I sit on my door step. Dogs are never off the lead unless in a fenced garden, park or safe designated dog area. I usually do a big walk on foot or exercise my dog and others in the dog park in town or head to other fenced enclosures such as manor farm. There's also some days where 2 15 minute walks when it's pouring down and animals in my care don't want to go outside, will do. I often travel on the trains to walk in the new forest or other places to explore however I don't let my own dog off unless in a safe gated area as she's a sighthound and they have a high prey drive. I don't own a car however I travel on trains, public transport and walk to wherever I need to be to collect any dogs from home. NOTE: I am more than happy to go out with just your dog only, I have experience with reactive, nervous and even agressive dogs. I'm happy to walk dogs or need to wear a muzzle and I'm more than happy to build trust first and take things slow before going out with them. These sweet babies are so misunderstood and I'm happy to be a friend!
