Pet care experience
I have had dogs, turtles and horses since I was born. I have also been relied on by my family to take care of them since I could walk. As I got older, my neighbors and friends would also rely on me to take care of their pets! After I got my CPR certification for children and learned how to help a choking small animal, like a cat or dog, I started my own official petsitting/babysitting business, and have been running it since I was 12. Animals have always held a special place in my heart because of how much they have done for me, from being a shoulder to cry on when I need comfort, to unconditional judgment free love. They don’t owe us anything, yet they still choose to be loyal, loving companions, so the least I could do is take care of them to the best of my abilities when their owner needs it!

Keira is an experienced, responsible, kind, friendly, and considerate pet caregiver. She understands the pet's/animal's needs, from a nutritional, emotional, companionship, and safety perspective. Keira will make sure she has all her questions answered, emergency numbers/addresses saved, special nutritional needs, home access and pet rules understood when she accepts the job. She has taken care of our dogs, both young and senior, our turtle, and friends' pets including horses. One of her special touches is to take a picture(s) of our fur-babies to send us while we are away. We trust her implicitly.

I live in a college dorm, so I unfortunately will not be able to take animals under my care at my own place, but I can provide any service you need in your own home. I am comfortable and more than willing to do anything along the lines of caring for the animal, as long as it does not require me inflicting pain on them/putting them in danger, forcing them to do something they do not want to do, or putting myself in danger.

I like to know there common behavioral habits, what they like and don’t like, feeding schedule, how often they need to go pottie, how much exercise they need daily, any allergies, medications they need, grooming strategies, their common sleeping arrangements, what time they start their day, where back up supplies is kept, their vets number in case of emergency, and a neighbor or close friend nearby that I can call in case the owner does not answer in an emergency.
A typical day
I love going to my barn which is 10 minutes from my house, and there are big open, fenced in fields, that I love taking my dogs to, to run around and play. There are also lovely hiking trails near me and that can be very stimulating with all the smells and new attractions, along with great exercise for them! I also love spending time just with dogs at home, whether that be on the couch, on the floor, playing tug of war, or even giving doggie massages until they fall asleep after a long day of play!

Availability
I currently work part-time at a horse barn, which requires me to work funky hours. Some days I work a few hours in the morning, then a few hours at night, and sometimes I work just in the morning or just at night. I do typically have a day or two off completely, which is when I am available for the entire day. Because my shifts are short but spread out throughout the day, I am available almost everyday, it just depends on the service, how often you need me and the animal I am taking care of.
