Looking after your fur babies with experience

Pet care experience

Hello fellow dog owners 🙂 I’m keighley I live with my partner Sam, with our little miniature dachshund Daphne who is our whole world, also a small cat called Dustin who has always been around dogs and loves them as much as us. Between us we have always grown up with dogs in our families, big and small! I am currently a student veterinary nurse with many animal certificates under my belt, at a veterinary hospital in Manchester which I love with all my heart. looking after animals is my day to day job, aswell as my absolute passion! Growing up I have always volunteered too, from kennels to vet practices. I believe I have the skills to cater looking after any dog, from the big and bouncy to the little shy ones who need that bit or encouragement, to the breeds that needs a lot of exercise, to the ones who are little couch potatoes that just want all the cuddles! In my years I’ve looked after all different breeds of dogs, having the privilege to get to know all their different personalities, having a constant new best friend for our little Daphne and to take new dogs along side us on all our outside adventures would be the best feeling! Providing a service for fellow dog owners and making their life easier and building up a reputation would be a privilege! Hoping to hear from you and your little fur babies soon 🐶 ❤️

This is the first review I’ve given on rover and I’m disappointed to give such a low score. I arranged a trial night with Kayleigh, drop off was 3pm, picking up at 10am the next morning. Firstly drop off time was moved back to 3:30pm on the day, and Kayleigh said she wouldn’t be home but her partner Sam would be available. I was nervous dropping off Otis, he’s only just turned one and this was the first time that I had left him an overnight. Kayleigh reassured me, and said I could expect regular updates throughout his stay. I did in fact only get one update all evening, I replied and my text remained on unread. I text again at 11pm and again my text remained on unread. No update on the morning either. We arrived at 10am to pick Otis up and was met by Sam, he asked us if we had heard from Kayleigh. She had gone out that evening for her birthday and hadn’t come home. Updates were sent from Sam to Kayleigh and not forwarded on, also Kayleigh was not upfront in telling me she would be out. The only text I received from her that evening gave the impression that she was home. I was clear with Kayleigh that I wasn’t precious about the date and only wanted to trial Otis overnight so I could see if longer stays would be possible. Despite having texts and a missed call off me (and being met with the fact that she was missing) Kayleigh didn’t get in touch, I worried most of the day if she had returned home ok. Late in the evening I decided to cancel the few nights I had booked with her in April. It was only then Kayleigh replied to me. She didn’t apologise, or acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. I had outlined in my cancellation that I wasn’t comfortable with what had happened and that I had left my dog with someone who I couldn’t contact or that I myself couldn’t be contacted in an emergency.

Absolutely brilliant, I was let down last minute by my usual dog sitter,I could not of found a nicer person who understands how much my dogs mean to me,I was kept up to date, and pictures of my beloved pooches were sent to me, they came home happy,I would 100% recommend Keighley and I will definitely be using the service again if needed.

We have a big grassy garden that is all secure with a gate, so is perfect for excercise aswell as your pet daily recommended walks. Our Daphne loves meeting new friends, she is so friendly and loves every breed, so having another dog in the house to keep Daphne company aswell as your dog would be perfect! Daphne is crate trained, we have spare crates too if you require your dog to be in a crate. We have a stair gate incase you have a preference about your dog going upstairs or not. Our house is a safe space for any pets 🙂

Information Keighley D. would like to know about your pet

The most important thing for us is meeting your dog as a couple and with our Daphne to see how we all interact, we will need to know any special requirements your dog may have, also whether they are able to have treats and what kind ect. What toys they can play with, how long do they typically have walks for and what is their preferred place to sleep whether that being crate ect. We need to know what they are like with other dogs/people on a typical walk so we can prepare ourselves, what food and how much (especially any allergies they may have) and most important if they are on medication at what time of day and the dose, as I do work in a vets myself and do this as a daily task.

A typical day

Any animals in our care we love to make the stay with us exciting as possible. With stimulating them physically and mentally. We have sessions of commands with rewards, always make sure we have numerous play time in our big open garden, and are lucky enough to have beautiful walks on our doorstep including our favourite a walk next to a golf course and along a stunning stretch of canal. Also we don’t live far away from numerous country parks and dog friendly pubs if your little ones are the social time. I feel we cater to any personality and listen to every owner about what their dog likes/ enjoys and make sure we bring more to that on there stay, making it personal to them so they come back to you after a wonderful and happy stay! We aspire to making your dogs stay a home from home experience!
