I have been around animals my whole life and started fully taking care of them when I was nine. I’ve walked, bathed, fed, and done everything for my two dogs since they were babies. I’ve taken care of my neighbors pets and helped my friends and girlfriend with their pets too. My best friend has two cats and my girlfriend has five. I also attended school at the zoo for my senior year in high school and learned about animal care for my different household pets, such as, spiders, scorpions, and lizards. I also shadowed in many different areas around the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and learned the daily routine of zoo keepers. My main jobs were to clean enclosures, food prep, and setting up for the day. Also, just a little fun fact, while I shadowed in the penguin exhibit I got to hand feed them a few times and even pet a baby penguin.
