Pet care experience
I have always love being around pets and have had the best experiences since beginning Rover in the fall of 2022!! I grew up with the sweetest dog who sparked my love for them but my family lost her a few years ago after a long and full life. For a while, I was not ready to open my heart to another pup so I opted for (basically jumped/sprinted at) any chance to watch other people’s dogs. Kaya finally sent me my next best friend, Henry Lumos, who I adopted this February and who is a social little butterfly that loves to meet any and every living being! He was 7 weeks old when I adopted him, so I have learned a lot more than I ever thought possible from my time with him which will help me care better for other dogs as well :) he’s already caught on to basic demands such as sit and come which is something I had never had the opportunity to train a puppy to do before! He also taught me things like how potty training is more about providing plenty of opportunities for puppies to relieve themselves initially than it is about letting them when they go in the wrong place. Because I’ve been able to have a lot of quality time with him since he came home, I also learned more about more signs he and other dogs give to indicate what they might be alerting me to. This has proven helpful with even my repeat clients’ dogs and helping them to feel more comfortable by understanding what is bothering them and how I can help.
Reviews
Our puppy loved staying with Kayleigh. She was very timely and even met us at our hotel for pick up and drop off. She sent updates and photos so we knew he was doing ok. We plan on calling Kayleigh the next time we're in Nashville. ??
Kayleigh has been an angel with my crazy pup. She has been super flexible with odd scheduling requests and helpful with all Juno's insane tendencies.
Kayleigh has been the sweetest with my pup and clearly loves dogs. She's been very receptive to various requests that I've made, including helping with training. She's also been super responsive with communication.
Kayleigh has been great with my pup. She's been very responsive and often asking for feedback, which she has been receptive to. She's also happy to oblige any odd requests I've had.

Safety, trust & environment
Pet safety is extremely important to me and I make sure to keep foods or items that could pose a danger as inaccessible as possible. Now that I’ve raised a puppy, I feel like I am even more hyper aware of potentially problematic situations and would do anything to keep the dogs safe! Guests in our home (human or otherwise) tend to rule the space for their stay, with Henry acting as their host! We love to playing in the yard for twenty minutes or so every other hour, and I also make sure to get the dogs out on walks at least 3-4 times a day in addition. Pets are welcome on furniture, but I also can support using a crate and/or discouraging any behaviors based on guidance from the owners!

Information Kayleigh S. would like to know about your pet
It is important for me to know any special diet rules as well as information about treats to avoid or if there are any that should be used as a reward, etc. Also, I like to get a good idea of how vocal the dogs will be and what some triggers might be. For example, some dogs will get a little loud when I first leave but then are fine, while others won't bark at all the whole time or does not take a breath between barks. It helps me to know if something is wrong or if it is normal for them to be quiet or chatty so I can figure out what they might need.
A typical day
I love taking dogs to different walking trails with two of my favorite being Richland Park Greenway and Stones River Trail. Personally, I try to go on at least one 2.5-mile walk a day so I tend to bring pets along with me if they can handle it or I will take them on a shorter version if they are a little smaller or slightly less athletic! If the dogs are social, I have taken them to Centennial dog park as well as a few more in the Nashville area.

Availability
Since I am still a student, it’s summer, and I do not have a full time job, I am hoping to spend most of the available time I will have watching some doggos! When I return to school in August, I’ll be taking a light course load so I will have pretty open availability except for afternoon on Tuesday and Thursday.
