Pet care experience
Back and active here on Rover! I typically book pet sitting by word of mouth, friends of friends so my Rover doesn't show all experience. I have had some of my clients write reviews here too though! I have loved and cared for dogs my whole life. Kayla is the best! She is reliable, trustworthy, and extremely kind. I have two larger dogs that absolutely adore her (a 60lb Airedale Terrier and 45lb mixed breed). She has always been great at following any specific instructions for feedings and medicine when needed. She takes them on walks and provides a lot of belly scratches. Kayla usually stays at my home with the girls, and I have never come home to a messy house. She keeps things tidy, which is great when coming back from a trip. I also love her communication while I am away...she will send cute photos and short updates periodically, so I know my babies are doing well. 10/10 would recommend her to take care of your fur babies!!!
Kayla was fantastic with my pup and a delight to work with. I just moved to Sacramento so my dog is in transition and displaying quirks. Kayla not only took it all in stride, she actively helped to make my dog more comfortable in her new surroundings. Kayla clearly loves dogs and cares about their needs. She's an excellent caretaker. I highly recommend Kayla.
Kayla loves dogs more than anyone I have ever met. She has dog sat for me as well as my parents and there is no one else I would trust with my little one with than her. She makes dog friends just walking down the street and leaves such lasting impressions on so many pups. Kayla is caring and genuine and would make a wonderful dog sitter!
Kayla is the BEST! She has dog sat for us for many years and I think our pups look forward to us going away now. =-) Right before Kayla's last visit we lost our 12 1/2 year old Brittany and were worried that our lab was going to have a difficult time. Kayla gave Nugget extra love and attention and Nugget will forever be her best friend. Because of Kayla's love and responsibility to our dogs and our home she has become part of our family. Kayla has a special way of bonding with the pups. Her love for animals shows in how she interacts with them. Kayla would be a great choice to spend some time walking or taking care of your pup when you are way.

Whatever the type of experience is booked I always communicate with the pet parent. I do not offer boarding services - if I were in a pet's home I would create an action plan with the pet parents. It could sound like, wake up 8am, let outside. Prepare breakfast & feed. Toy time inside. Harness up for a 20-40 minute walk and/or dog park. Home for rest. Dinner time and another outing after for potty break. Bedtime. Repeat!

I'm open to all breeds and would ask to know what would make you comfortable with me caring for your pet. I need to know the rules and tendencies for your babe. Ex: no sleeping on the bed, no begging, likes to chew, needs to practice commands, ect. So that I can prepare for time with your dog that will make everyone happy.
A typical day
Let's imagine a typical overnight with your dog... I live in the heart of midtown with so much to explore. I'd take your babe on leash on a walk around town. I'm believe that on certain occasions (with me) dogs should be allowed to sniff until their hearts content. I'll be patiently planning our route while your babe sniffs around. Depending on how active babe is there is a dog park I frequent with friends and their dogs. We'd stop at Starbucks and I'd treat them to a pupaccino, if allowed. Once it gets dark and the outdoor activities have been exhausted, babe and I will eat dinner and cuddle up for some Netflix. I don't mind dogs in my bed, but will abide by any and all rules mom and/or dad set forth. I have a patio with turf for babe to use for a restroom but will also take them out before bed around the block to find some grass.

Availability
I work remotely full time M-F with a flexible schedule. I wake up around 6am and walk my dog Sunshine to the dog park. I would look to visit pups on my lunch break and after my day job and on weekends.
