Passionate, patient, and engaged.

Pet care experience

I won’t just take your dog for a walk, anyone can do that. With every walk, visit or in-house (yours) boarding I will help build the relationship you want with your fur baby by using positive reinforcement only. Every walk and visit is one step closer to working out those behaviors we wish our dogs wouldn’t have such as: Barking, separation anxiety, distracted when walking, chewing up anything and everything in between etc. Working towards knowing how to communicate with your dog is my number one goal and you will receive a personal report card from me to know how each walk, visit and board went with pictures. My passion has always been with animals and now I get to have the opportunity to work with them every day by making a positive difference in your dogs life one walk and board at a time. When you book with me for 1 - 4 days you will receive: a personal report card, and first time clients will also get a bully stick. 4-7 days includes: A report card and bully stick. 7-10 days includes: A report card, bully stick and a polaroid for each dog while we are on an adventure. 10-14 days includes: A report card, bully stick, polaroid'(s) and a new toy of your dogs choosing under $15 at Petco.

Guys… if Kayla is available, BOOK HER! Seriously, the best house/pet sitter we’ve had so far. She took notes, was on time, updated us daily, took wonderful care of our dog, and left the house cleaner than when we left. She even watered my garden.

Kayla is outstanding. Our BorderCollie/Blue Heeler mix gets very anxious when we are gone and this was the first time we were leaving him with someone new. Kayla came over to do a meet and great with him and I knew instantly that she was perfect. She understands dog body language and focuses a lot on positive reinforcement. She sent several pictures and updates a day which helped ease my anxiety as well. She took notes at our meet and great and was very professional. We will keep hiring Kayla from now on when we leave because she put Louie first and loves what she does! Also the little Pet Report Card was such a great idea!

I have used Rover several times before and had terrible experiences. One sitter actually told me she wouldn't watch my dogs again because they were too high-maintenance. I was done. Then last week I had no other choice but to turn to Rover again. I'm so glad I did because I found Kayla. She was incredible. My dogs were happy, well-cared for and the house was cleaner than I left it. She came prior to the stay and met the dogs and took notes, which none had done before. One of my dogs had chewed the fence so it was loose. Had she not been paying attention, my dog could have easily gotten out. Kayla not only noticed it, but found a hammer and nails and fixed it. As an added touch, she left them report cards. I can't recommend Kayla enough!!

Your home will always be treated with the utmost respect to your privacy, belongings and rules. Let me know during a meet what you are comfortable with, I don’t mind sleeping on the floor if need be. Otherwise you can expect everything to be in its place when you get home and even better (I am a wonderful house cleaner at extra charge) but basic things like sweeping and tidying up will always be done.

Information Kayla S. would like to know about your pet

Communication is key, let me know of any and all of your dogs behaviors. What you like and don’t like and what we can work on together within reason to help your dog be the best companion for the both of you.

A typical day

A typical walk for a dog that is “high energy” would be focused on visits to gated dog parks for intense running sessions with a toy of your choice followed by some positive reinforcement training of your specifications. A typical walk for a dog that is “lower energy” I will mainly focus on neighborhood walks, positive reinforcement training and any other basic training requested by you. All walks include a personal report card. A typical day for dog boarding would be filled with walks, trips to the mountains for hikes and hanging out in the house mixed with some training.
