My name is Doug, and I love you!

Pet care experience

No, I'm not Doug but my name is Kayla! I'm 24 years old, and I have a profound love for animals, dogs in particular, (i have a lot of experience with cats and horses as well). Whereas the average girl my age has hundreds of selfies on their mobile, I have one....for my Rover profile, and the rest are photos & videos of my doggers. If you don't believe me, please check out my dog's Instagram. (@Labradoggerz) The biggest struggle as a doggo parent is finding someone you can trust to take great care of your baby, the same way you would. It's the part of vacation planning that makes a vacation feel, well, less like a vacation. That's why I would love to do a 'meet and greet' with you, however long you want, so you can see what kind of person you are entrusting your dogs with. Your dog(s) will be treated by me as if they were my own. So not only will they be loved a great deal, but they will learn to follow me as their pack leader while I am in your home. Your dogs will feel comfort and safety in me because of this, and it also will keep them safe in return. And this has actually resolved severe separation anxiety in all the dogs I have cared for. They know when I am there, their job is just to be cute, and that I am the protector. <3 Background: My first dog was a Labrador Retriever, I received Abbey at the age of 4. When I was older I made it my responsibility to care for all her needs. Bathing, brushing and walking, playing with. When she got older, I administered her medications and eye drops. Then when Kidney Failure struck, I was awake every 4 hours administering her fluids given to us by the vet. (Parents and sister were too scared of needles.) After she died in 2012 my family added 2 new Labrador Retriever's Maximus and Maya. They are incredible with children of all sizes, and dogs of all sizes. I walk and jog with them every day, play with them outside, bathe them, brush, clip and grind their nails. Concerns you may have: Do you have a bull, horse, cow, or bear that somehow inhabits the body of your dog? If so, you can be extremely confident with your large baby walking with me, even in the case they see a squirrel or that hot bae Husky across the street, you can be assured I have the skills and experience to defuse the situation before it gets crazy. I walk my own 2 (92lbs. + 99lbs.) Labradors at the same time with confidence. Dog Walking: I can tailor your pups walk according to his/her needs. Do you have a Pitbull, Terrier, Grey Hound, or another dog breed who has lots of untamed energy? Or maybe you want your dog to kick a few pounds off? I can jog on and off with your dog, and/or sprint to get that energy out so he stops taking it out on your couch and decor pillows. I carry a doggy water bottle with me for hydration and also a canister of pepper spray to keep your fur-baby safe from other dogs in the neighborhood that might not be so friendly. Drop-In: Your dog will get the optimal care he needs, and lots of play time to ensure they don't get that sad look on their face from boredom. Have cats? I have experience with felines as well. Dog-Sitting: Whether you're gone for a night or a whole week, you can feel safe leaving your pooch with me in your home, they will not feel sad their momma/daddy are gone, for they will be too busy playing like crazy and chilling with me. I love to give dogs activities while we're not playing, as well, like apple chunks in a Kong Ball. You also can be assured I will keep your home clean. During pet-sitting and after I like to vacuum the home and do a little cleaning so that you and your family can come home to relax and not clean. Who wants to see tumbleweeds of dog hair flying around?

Kayla is great with any dog. She helped us while we left for a week for our wedding. Talk about stressful. Our dog is a handful and she kept him very occupied and happy the whole time we were gone. I wasn’t worried about him once, even leaving a stranger in our home for a week, she made sure we felt comfortable with her in our home with our pets. She was a great alternative to boarding. Our dog wouldn’t handle that well and she was well worth the cost. She undercharges what she’s worth and goes beyond expectation. Do yourself a favor and hire her.

Kayla stayed with our 3 babies for a week. She spent a lot of time with them and took great care of our home. She kept us up to date and responded immediately if we sent texts. We will use her again in the future.

Beyond the moon that I could leave my doggo n cat with such a wonderful young woman! They loved her. Kayla responded quickly when I was missing them n sent texts to see how they all wr doin (she even sent me pics even when I didn't ask cuz I didn't wanna seem like a ninny). She made my daughter and my vacation a bunch better knowing she was with our fur buds! I recommend Kayla 110%

Kayla was very good with my animals. She sent plenty of photos of my fur babies and was prompt and on time with her visits. She was also very flexible and communicated with me in real time while I was away. Would definitely recommend!

Information Kayla R. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog have separation anxiety? Is your dog scared and nervous during fireworks and/or thunder, if so do you have a thunder-shirt? Do you have cats? If you have cats, do they interact well with your dogs? Are your fur-babies allowed on the furniture? How often and how much food do you feed your dog in a day? Is your senior dog deaf or blind? Does your dog go awhile before eating, and is this normal behavior for him/her? Is your dog afraid of anything in the home, for example, vacuums? Does your dog take medication? If so, what is it for, and do they take the pills with or without trouble? Does your dog have any types of aggression? Has your dog ever tried escaping your fencing? If yes, do they still have the habit of trying to get out of your fenced yard? Do you have Kong balls?

A typical day

Your dog and I will go on walks through the neighborhood or a near by path. I love to give dogs extra stimuli while not playing, such as practicing training commands, or giving them a Kong Ball filled with apple chunks. Your dog will enjoy the coziest snuggles.
