Kayla is by far the most compassionate and enthusiastic pet-parent I have ever met. In fact, her empathy is one of the things I admire about her most. She has taken in and rehabilitated more strays and abused animals than I can count. I had the pleasure of helping her out with one of these, a cat named Dean. She found him with a host of problems, including a huge wound on his leg. But she took him in and spared no expense to nurse him back to peak capacity. Today he's the fluffiest and happiest cat you'll ever see. She's this way with all animals: so full of empathy that she can't ever stand by if an animal is suffering. But she also has such a way with dogs and cats. She spends a few days with a dog who would hardly respond to his name and suddenly it's practically listening to her every command. Seeing her love for people's pets makes me so happy. If more people had her heart the world would be a much better place.

Kayla has always loved my dogs as if they were her own. On multiple occasions she has been able to watch them for me on short notice, including one time when I’d made other arrangements and later discovered that person hadn’t gone to take care of them. I told her where my house key was hidden and she went right over and made sure they were let out, had food and water, and stayed extra just to play with them and spend time with them. My dogs love Kayla just as much, if not more, than they love me!
