❤️We want to LOVE your furbabies!🥰

Pet care experience

NOTE: PJ and I work both separately and together for walks, drop ins, and sits. WHAT WE PROVIDE: 🏠 SAFE SPACE - We pride ourselves on creating a safe space for your animals, at a time when they may not feel safe. Having their owners leave can be traumatic and we’re there for them every step of the way. 👀 OBSERVANT - We are very tuned-in to your pets and will notice if something is amiss. Your pets’ health and happiness is our TOP priority, so if we notice an issue, like fleas, changes in bowel movements, or the presence of toxic plants in the home, we will let you know and be ready to act! 😻 PRESENT - We both work from home, so, for sits, we will be with your animals for the majority of the time you are gone! We often work with a pup at our feet or a kitty in our laps and are always paying attention to the needs of your furbabies! Your animals will never feel lonely on our watch! ❤️HEART-CENTERED - PJ and I each have a unique gift for understanding the needs of those around us and are able to connect to the animals we care for in a very intuitive way. 💼 2 YRS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - After spending most of our lives caring for animals, PJ and I decided to make Pet Sitting a way of life. We have been Pet Sitting constantly as a form of housing since June 2022. Since then, we have cared for over 60 different animals in more than 35 different homes, so we are ready for whatever your animals have to throw at us! We've encountered all sorts of issues in our travels and have taken them all in stride. From calming anxious animals and cleaning up pet messes, to identifying flea problems and having a purebred come into season on our watch - keeping her away from her mate was no easy task! We have cared for cats, dogs, and even a giant tortoise, and have loved every minute of it! We find such joy in getting to spend time with the animals we care for! 🐕‍🦺🐾🦮 BEST OF BOTH WORLDS 🐈🐾🐈‍⬛ My partner, PJ, is a full on dog-whisperer and has a profound and instant connection with every dog he meets! He has been pet sitting for friends & family his whole life and is amazing at adapting to the energy of the dogs he’s around. PJ also has extensive experience with handling and walking large breed dogs (over 150 lbs), so he can keep control even when the Mastiff decides to chase a bunny while on a leash! I have been called a cat-whisperer by pet parents on many occasions, and have created beautiful bonds with cats whose owners simply couldn’t believe it. I have been caring for cats for the majority of my life. I got my first cat at age 5 and was smitten from the start! I am someone who deeply identifies with cats, and have often been compared to the species unprompted. I am a homebody who would rather curl up on the couch with a cat in my lap than go out on the town and getting to hear them purr is one of my most favorite things! I love helping a shy cat come out of their shell and have even been told that after spending a week with me, some cats are more people oriented and less scared of humans in general. I am fully versed in cat speak and know the best ways to approach and communicate with felines to build trust. While we came into our pet sitting business a cat person and a dog person, over the past 2 years of constant pet sitting we’ve really both become just animal people! Some of the dogs we’ve sat have bonded more with me and some of the cats we’ve sat have slept on PJ every night. I have even started doing some training with a few of the dogs we’ve sat and I really enjoy that! Getting to constantly connect with new animals for the last 2 years has opened both of us up to the magic that all animals have to offer us and we genuinely LOVE getting to connect with new fur babies! NOTE: While on solo sits, I will only be caring for cats and small/medium dogs, as I am not comfortable caring for a dog that I can’t control on the leash. 💊MEDICATION EXPERIENCE💉 - I also have extensive experience with caring for cats and dogs with medical issues. I’ve given meds in the food, syringes in the mouth, pills in the mouth, injections, and have administered interstitial fluids under the skin. I would just need written instructions to make sure that I know exactly what your fur baby needs. 📷 REGULAR CHECK-INS🤳 - We can also keep you updated on your four-legged family as often as you’d like! We both have iPhones and love taking photos and videos of the animals we watch - you should see our photo feeds! For past sits, we’ve sent photos, videos, and updates, via text, as often as twice daily, so that you know your fur babies are thriving and can get back to enjoying your vacation! Just let us know how often you’d like updates and what things you want to know about before our sit. Our top priorities are keeping your animals happy and keeping you anxiety-free! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FIVE STARS - We're just starting out on Rover, but we have over 30 5-star reviews on other pet sitting sites! Just ask for the link to our profile there!

We needed a pet sitter for 8 nights, on very short notice. Goji is a 1 1/2 year-old Lab, Great Pyrenees and Australian Shepherd mix, with a ton of energy, who needs to be kept busy and exercised. I really did not want to put her in a kennel, especially with the respiratory disease that is going around. I also was leery of having a stranger staying in my house, but I reached out to Kayla and she came for a meet & greet. Goji warmed up to her immediately and both my husband and I felt very comfortable leaving Goji in Kayla's hands. She demonstrated warmth but also strength, which was important, since Goji can be very stubborn. She asked great questions to understand our schedule/Goji's routine, and our expectations. When we got her, Goji was about 10 pounds overweight, so a lot of playtime/exercise was important, not only for her mental well-being, but to help her continue to lose some weight. While we were gone, we received daily updates with pictures and videos that clearly showed Goji was not only being well taken care of, but also being played with and loved. Kayla is an exclellent communicator and went above and beyond what we expected; we came home to dishes washed, floors vacuumed, sheets washed/bed remade and a happy dog that had actually lost 2 pounds from all the exercise she received! I cannot overstate how pleased we were with Kayla!

Kayla and PJ are incredibe -- I wish I could clone them and have them housesit every single time we go out of town! They are both so kind, considerate, and responsive. They paid attention to even the littlest details to make sure our pets were cared and loved for to the greatest degree. They were also SO patient -- one of our cats has recently learned how to open doors and loves to do so in the middle of the night to wake you up for a midnight snack. Kayla handled it so well and was so patient about his annoying quirk. I still have the photos Kayla sent of our kitties saved on my phone because they were so good!! Our house was spotless when we returned home and our kitties were obviously so well loved while we were gone, they acted like they never even missed us! Would 1,000% recommend for your house sit!

KAYLA AND PJ ARE AMAZING!!!! Yes, I'm shouting. We've used them twice as house/dog sitters and it and won't be our last. When our dogs saw them again after their last sit they went wild with delight. That's when you know you've got a great sitter. We were gone for 5 weeks and never worried, because we knew they were in such good hands. They continued to send us pics and updates. They're always on top of communication if any questions came up and even indulged us with extra videos when we told them how much we missed our pups. They're also so in tune with our pups that they noticed Charlotte wasn't acting herself and asked if they should take her to the vet. We're so thankful they noticed that and took care of her. They spent a ton of time with vets and getting her on medication and relaying everything to us, even taping the meeting with the vet so we knew exactly what was going on. These two are a gem. Do not hesitate for a moment using them to shower you pets with love and care.

Kayla and PJ watched my dog Champ for me. They were amazing, communicative, and Champ loved them. Champ can be moody but very clearly loved them both and was snuggling with them the whole time, which surprised me a bit. They're the best!

✨OUR APPROACH✨ PJ and I are both very intuitive people who have a sixth sense when it comes to understanding animals. We are both people who lead with our hearts and understand the magic of spending time with animals - there’s a special kind of love that only four-legged friends can give <3 We would love to meet you on a video call and prefer to schedule an in-person meet and greet before our sit, so we can meet your fur babies and you can show us how to best care for your home! 🏡**HOME CARE**🏘 My parents run an Airbnb, and have rental properties, and I have often helped them out with cleaning and such, so I know how much is involved in maintaining a home. We pride ourselves on treating your home with the same respect that we’d treat our own. We make a point to leave every house we sit cleaner than we found it! I also have 20 5-star reviews on Airbnb as a guest and can send you a link to my profile upon request!

Information Kayla M. would like to know about your pet

WE WANT TO KNOW YOUR ANIMALS! Before we care for your fur babies, we like to get as much info as possible, so we can come into the situation totally prepared. We understand that each animal has their own personality and quirks and that pet care is not one-size-fits-all! We always like to get on a video call to meet the pet parents before a sit and will ask for the following info: ~ General temperament of the animals in the house, outside, and on walks? ~ Temperament with new dogs? ~ Temperament with new humans? ~ What are your animals like when they’re being watched by someone else? ~ Any quirks, fears, or anxieties we should know about? ~ Eating schedule? ~ Walk schedule? ~ Medication schedule? ~ How long can they be left alone? ~ Protocol when we leave the house? ~ How are the dogs disciplined? ~ What commands do they know? (We LOVE a list!) ~ Spayed/Neutered? ~ Up to date with vaccinations? ~ Treated for fleas? ~ How often you would like updates? We would also love to know anything else that you want to tell us about your fur babies! We want you to feel totally at ease while you’re away, so any info that will help us to care for your animals is info we want to know!

A typical day

DOG WALKING - We usually wake up around 7 and love to go for a morning walk with dogs! We make sure to line up feeding time with the schedule that you adhere to for continuity, and then, if a second walk is required, we’ll usually do a shorter walk before dark to avoid any night creatures or fear of the dark issues. WORK FROM HOME - During the day, we love having an animal to cuddle with while we work. Even if your animal is not a cuddler, we do our best to have eyes on them or at least check on them regularly throughout the day, and look for cues that they need to go out. Then in the evening we love sitting on the couch to watch TV and evening cuddles are our favorite! PLAYTIME - With cats, I’ll often bring some jute string to play with them with. With dogs who like to play, we try to put aside a little bit of time to play when we are not working. USUALLY HOME - Since we work from home, we rarely leave the house and when we do it’s usually for short trips to the grocery store, to take a walk, etc. The longest we’d leave your animals alone at home would be 5-6 hours, usually to go to dinner and a movie or go on a hike together, once or twice a week. We are always taking your pup’s schedule into consideration when we go out and regularly work our outings around their schedule, not the other way around. If we know that they’re expecting dinner at 7pm, we’ll go see a 4pm movie, so we’ll be back in time!

🗓 SCHEDULE: We both work from home - I run a virtual coaching business, and PJ is an actor & writer - so we are available for your animals whenever they need us! We do our best to work our schedule around them. PJ uses a standing desk, but I enjoy working with a fur baby in my lap, and we both love evening cuddles! We prefer to walk dogs just in the morning, but if an evening walk is needed, we can accommodate. We almost never leave the house for more than 5-6 hrs and usually just a couple of times a week to catch dinner and a movie, or to go on a hike. Your fur babies will have all the love and care they need!
