Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Kayla and I’m a grad student at WVSU studying criminal justice administration. I’ve worked in a dog boarding/ daycare facility in NC and I’ve also worked at an animal hospital in WV. I have a 7 year old pup of my own and she’s my world. I’d love to love on your pups while you’re gone and treat him/her like my own. We’ll go for hikes, dog parks, runs, and trips. If your pup is anything like mine when I’m away I get told she acts depressed and waits for me at the door. So my goal when watching dogs is to do what you do for them and whatever will get their tail wagging! I love dogs and currently working at a daycare and I’ve missed working with them everyday. So I’d love to come watch your pups!

Kayla was absolutely great to work with!!!
I was so nervous about leaving my dogs while I was away on a work trip, but Kayla was amazing. My dogs warmed right up to her at the meet and greet and had an amazing week. She kept me updated regularly and really paid attention to what my dogs needed. I had the reassurance I needed that my babies were ok, so I could focus on work. My eldest dog can be rather cranky, but she worked with him to earn his trust. He usually gives me the silent treatment for a few days after I get home, but he was so happy about his week that he was happy to see me. My middle dog is very clingy and usually won't leave my side after I've been gone. He was happy to see me, but was so happy about his week that he didn't need the reassurance he usually does. And my 10 week old puppy was less nippy and better house trained than when we left. I had previously been hesitant to travel because of how upset the dogs can get, but now I'm definitely looking forward to more trips without the dogs - as long as Kayla is available. :)
She did a great job! It was so nice to know that Hope was taken care of and played with. I will definitely use her in the future!
Kayla is a 6 out of 5!! She was wonderful with my needy dogs! Loved the pictures..she is top notch!

If you dog is good with others. Is he/she food aggressive? Does he/she pull when I walk them and if there is another dog how will they react? Any allergies or health conditions should I know? If I am watching a dog overnight I’d like to know their primary vet and if I will have permission to take them in if necessary. If it is a puppy under 1 I would like to know if they are up to date on shots. Also if your dog is trained on any work specifics or noises I should not do for certain commands. Besides all the technicals I’d like to know what your dog loves and what I can do to make you feel more comfortable with leaving them in my care ?
A typical day
I love going on hiking trails around the area at different parks and get out running! If your pup is good with others I love going to dog parks to have them run around.
