Pet care experience
*check out @pawesome.days on Instagram for a preview :)) use the following code for $20 off your first booking: KAYLA03196* From dogs, cats, birds, and even turtles, I’ve had and cared for many different animals from a very young age. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me with their precious pets for short and long term care. I have extensive experience walking large and small dogs in cities, suburbs, and even beaches. I am comfortable and confident monitoring pets in distracting, and sometimes dangerous, environments where they interact with other animals. Most recently, I have been learning how to train dogs with the goal of pursuing that professionally in the future. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was young, and while that’s changed, I hope this experience will allow me to care for animals the way I’ve always hoped to.
Reviews
Kayla did a great job of taking care of our two cats! She gave great updates, and our shy cats warmed up to her. Before our trip, she set up a video conference to go over our cats’ needs. We felt very safe leaving them in her hands.
Kayla took amazing care of Moo while I was away for a few days! She followed all instructions perfectly, and was great about sending pictures of her throughout the day. Will absolutely be asking for her help again soon!
Kayla was amazing! We hired her for the day and she did a great job looking after my pup! She was very sweet and provided pictures and updates throughout the day. She made sure my pup got his exercise in by taking him on several walks. She left the house exactly how we left it. Overall we had a great experience with Kayla and we will definitely be using her again! Thanks Kayla!
Kayla was such a sweetheart! She stayed at our apartment and watched our French Bulldog Alfie for 2 weeks while we were on our honeymoon. Our dog can be high maintenance and mischievous at times but Kayla sent us many photos / videos ensuring us that he was being a good boy! We were able to really feel at ease and not stress about leaving our fur baby. She even tidied our apartment before we came home. We will definitely use her again in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I am enthusiastic, kind, and deeply empathetic — all of which is reflected in my work. My central goal is to care for each pet in the way that best suits them. I will ask thorough details on each animal’s unique personality, preferences, and and routine to meet their needs accordingly. If possible, I always like to schedule a meeting time so that the pet, owner and I can get acquainted. Generally, my caring style adapts with the needs of each case. I am equally as excited to go for a run with an energetic pup as I am relaxing on the couch with a cat or an older, more lethargic dog. I am essentially willing to do whatever is necessary to ensure the comfort and safety of each pet :)) I also believe that communication is crucial and will update the owner regularly!
Information Kayla C. would like to know about your pet
It’s crucial to know of any special needs the dog my have, physical and behavioral. I also always like to know breed, size, commands, and how your dog responds to other animals and people.
A typical day
Given my housing situation, I regrettably am not able to bring pets into my home. Nonetheless, I am very open and excited to care for animals in their own space or outdoors. I treat each space I enter with the utmost respect. I will follow house rules, like taking off shoes or washing hands upon arrival, and will always clean up after myself. In the home, I will follow the lead of the dog as I am aware that I am a visitor in their space. I adapt my plan to the needs of each pet! I typically like to participate in activities that are familiar to the dog, and am open to any form of engagement. I’ll play with the available toys, chill on the sofa, take them for a walk around the neighborhood, and even explore parks. Depending on timeframe, distance, and comfort level of the owner, I also really enjoy going to Astoria Park, Gantry Plaza State Park, and Flushing Meadows. I do have a car, so also would be able to take your pet on adventures that we wouldn’t be able to on foot. Of course, I would always consult the owner before taking them anywhere.
