Animal Care Is My Career & Passion!
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Kayla. I have 5yrs professional animal welfare experience. I started as an Animal Care Attendant at a no kill shelter in Palm Springs CA. My team and I cared for over 400 shelter animals every day. My work with dogs has ranged from abused/neglected rehabilitation, specialized enrichment and placement into adoptive homes. I also have experiance managing dog daycares and their packs. With that said I’m very comfortable and knowledgeable with all breeds and temperaments. Besides my rehabilitation training I also currently attend school to be a certafied Dog Obedience Instructor. Although dogs are my passion, I have a wide range of cat experience as well. I participated in a TNR (trap neuter release) program in CA to help reduce the feral population. I’ve also fostered countless cats age ranging from 1 day old to the eldest of seniors, so I am comfortable with all cats as well. I do have a wide range of exotic animal experience (rodents, birds, reptiles, some farm animals) if needed. Thank you so much for reading my profile and I’m really excited to work with your family and fur babies!
Reviews
Kayla was so amazing when we went away on vacation! We have a very high maintenance pup who has lots of anxiety and separation issues, so we are always worried when leaving him with someone new. Kayla made us feel comfortable from the minute she came over to meet Ollie. She was so relaxed with him and let him just be who he was and come to her. For the first few days he wouldn't even go over to his bowl to eat and she would take it to him by his bed. Before we knew it, she was sending us pictures of him cuddling with her like he's known he forever. Knowing he was happy and cared for made us enjoy our time away so much more. Thank you!!!
Kayla is a fantastic sitter and is always on time, she take care of the cats and plays with them as much as possible, they are always so excited to he her watch them.
Kayla did walks/drop-ins on my dog while I went on a day trip out of state. I am new to Rover and was so nervous about trusting a stranger in my home with my dog, especially when my dog has OCD and anxiety issues, but immediately from the start of the meet and greet, Kayla put me and my dog at ease. Additionally, through the pictures and texts that Kayla sent during her visits, i could tell how much happier my dog was at home with her than in a kennel. I look forward to booking with her in the future. Thanks again!
Kayla watched my cat and my 3 reptiles, 2 bearded dragons and a tegu for a week while my family and I were on vacation. This was my first time using Rover so I was a little hesitant with finding the right fit for my needs as it was a little different from just watching a dog or cat. She was consistent, responsible and attentive to what was entailed in the job. I received pictures/ texts every day she came to let me know my animals were being well cared for. I am very appreciative of all she did. It was a great experience and I would recommend her services to anyone. I look forward to booking her in the future for another family vacation! Thanks again Kayla!

Information Kayla B. would like to know about your pet
In order for me to provide the best care possible I would appreciate pet parents to provide as much information they can. Things like favorite walk routes, favorite toys and treats. I also need to know about any picky/nervous behaviors or triggers the animal may have. If they have fears or sevear dislikes to something that is important for me to know so i can keep the pet comfy and happy and meself safe. Recent injurys, medications or medical conditions need to be disclosed for the animals saftey. Lastly, consistency is important in keeping your pet behaving well and happy. I would also like for you to include any current training you are doing or behaviors your working on with your pet so i can continue doing the same durring our visits.
A typical day
During our visits your pet is getting vital stimulation and it’s important to me to evaluate the animals needs based on things like age, energy level, medical status and many other factors. I personally tailor the visit or care to that pets specific needs, likes, and wants. I love to run with dogs who enjoy it. But I also don’t mind taking it slow and letting your pup sniff and mark everything they’d like. Toys are always a fun way to burn off some energy as well as help me bond with your pet.
