I am a dog lover! I grew up with a German Shorthaired Pointer, English Springer Spaniel, West Highland Terrier and a Norwich Terrier (not all at the same time). I now own a Boxer mix of my own! I have a lot of experience with dog-sitting. I have watched 2 different Yorkies (2 different houses), a chihuahua/Yorkie mix, and 2 lab mixes, and have also cared for 2 cats, fresh water fish, hermit crabs, a lizard, and watered plants during my house-sitting experiences in the past. I house sat for the same family 2 years in a row while they were on vacation for 1-2 weeks and even spent the night every now and then to keep a closer eye on their elderly lab. The 2 labs at this house were very different. I have experience with energetic dogs and elderly dogs from this home, and experience with an indoor/outdoor cat. The smaller dogs provided me experience with dogs that were more shy and took longer to warm up to you, as well as with using both doggy pads and outside as ways to go to the bathroom. My fiancé has grown up with Golden Retrievers his whole life, so that adds some extra dog-comfort ability to our home. I live in an apartment complex that has a dog park on the premises and there are also many walking paths to walk dogs, as well as an outdoor courtyard area. I love dogs very much.
