Veterinarian to provide quality TLC

Pet care experience

I'm a veterinarian by profession, but first and foremost, I'm an avid pet lover. I'm currently waiting to complete my California license, as I recently moved here from Wisconsin and in the meantime, I would love to spend some time hanging out, playing with, and loving on your pets. I have experience with various training methods and a huge variety of dog breeds. Before vet school, I volunteered with dog rescue groups, focusing on training and socialization of their adoptable dogs (most common breeds were various types of pitties, German Shepherds, and Huskies). I have taken care of dogs of all breeds and sizes from 3 pound Chihuahuas, strong "bully breeds", Great Dane (gentle giants), Mastiffs, and everything in between including lots and lots of mixed breeds. I understand that each dog is an individual and I will respect YOUR training style and rules. Consistency is key in dog training of any type! I am very familiar and very comfortable handling dogs who are reactive, or not social with other dogs. I also have years of experience taking care of cats, and have raised multiple litters of bottle babies from the shelter. I am able to administer SC fluids to cats in kidney failure, and insulin injections to diabetics cats. I want to know about your dog's routine, your dog's likes and dislikes, any dietary restrictions, and their favorite activities. Safety is my absolute NUMBER ONE priority, as I know how quickly accidents can happen, from many patients I have treated in the hospital. I have used Rover myself to find sitters for my own baby, and I know how nerve-racking it can be to worry about whether all the doors/gates will be closed securely, whether the sitter will be quick enough to prevent bolting out the door, whether they will be able to keep hold of the leash if something unexpected happens and whether they will follow my rules in regards to interaction with other animals. I am very meticulous and detail-oriented and thus, leash and collar safety, door safety, and preventing any incidents with other animals will be my priorities at all times. I'm able to administer any medications needed and have some tricks we can try for any pups who don't like taking their meds. I can also administer insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids or any other injections your pet may need. I'm also familiar with many dietary restrictions and sensitivities and I know how important it is to follow your instructions to a T. I have experience with senior pets, diabetic pets, pets with mobility issues, partially paralyzed pets, and pets who need to have their bladders manually expressed. I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles and many other species. Just ask! Any special requests - feel free to ask! I'm happy to provide extra services, as needed for your individual situation. I'm currently working part-time and studying for my California state license, so I will be able to spend plenty of time with your pups! Scheduling is very flexible. Let me know if you have any special requests or preferences! I love to go on adventures with dogs! Let me know their favorite places and preferences. We can go for hikes during the cooler parts of the day and I'm always ready for stroll around the neighborhood or to the nearest park. Otherwise, we can play ball or play indoors with their favorite toys. I am also always happy to snuggle with the lazy couch potato types.

Katrina was everything we could have hoped for and more. Very present and affectionate, quick to respond to messages and problems as they arised. We will definitely try to book her again in the future if we're fortunate enough to have the option!

Doctor Z. is fantastic! Schnecken loved her and calmed down almost immediately after I left. She kept me updated with adorable videos and pictures all day, giving me the peace of mind that every pet parent wants. She truly understands dogs, training, and has an amazing energy that my dog responded to immediately. And what could be better than a licensed Veterinarian taking care of your animal in case of any type of emergency. She was very knowledgable about medicine and I was confident that if anything happened Schnecken would be in great hands! I definitely know who to contact if I need to ditch my kiddo again!

I had to go out of town and Katrina was amazing with my dogs and cat. Super reliable and sent such cute pictures to me while I was away. I felt super reassured with her that they were in good hands

I love any and all breeds of dogs! I would like to know about their likes and dislikes, favorite activites, favorite toys, favorite foods and dietary restrictions. I also want to adhere to your regular routine as closely as possible, so I would like to know your dog's daily routine, meal times and walk times. I would also like to know whether your dog is social with other dogs. No problem, if they're not, I just want to know so that I can keep everyone safe and prevent any incidents!
