I've volunteered in vet offices and animal shelters. I know basic animal and human first aid and CPR. I love to run, walk, and play with all types of pets. I've cared for cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, horses, ponies, and even trained an intact, super stubborn donkey to ride. My home is small, but cats and dogs are welcome. My 2 cats are extremely friendly with other cats and dogs, but don't mind staying in my bedroom during the day. They usually sleep there during the day anyway, and are ready to play and be trained in the evening. I've even trained one of my cats to sit and stay! I am a geologist with a degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. Go Tar Heels!!! But was recently laid off due to industry downturn in the private consulting business where I worked as a project geologist for an environmental and agricultural engineering firm. So, I have plenty of time to spend nurturing your pets. I miss being around dogs especially. My border collie passed away at the age of 15.5 last year. I made her homemade venison dog food with a vet approved recipe for most of her life. She was extremely well trained by me. She even knew her left from her right!
