Reliable and caring...cats too!
Pet care experience
I love spending time with animals. My dog and two cats are the lights of my life, and I embrace the opportunity to extend the love and care that I provide my own pets on to your furry family members. I ensure that your animals are given plentiful attention and well cared for in your absence. I spent a year volunteering at the Boulder Humane Society and so have had experience with dogs and cats of all different temperaments. Because I have attended many training classes with my dog, I also have a solid foundation of understanding of dog behavior. I am available for walks and drop in visit throughout the day. I welcome the opportunity to care for dogs and cats of all ages, and am happy to help with puppy care. DOG WALKS: I am available for 30 and 60 minute walks with your dog around your neighborhood. Additionally, I take my own dog out onto the trails of Boulder most days of the week, and if your dog would enjoy the company of another canine friend, I would love to bring him or her along with us on a hike. I charge $33 for hour-long walks at CU South, Bobolink and Dry Creek, and $45 for hikes near/in the foothills that typically last around 1.5-2 hours. DOG BOARDING: Dogs who stay at my house truly become members of my family for the duration of their stay, joining me and my husband on outings to hiking trails, friends' houses, brewery patios, parks, etc. On any given day that your dog is with me, you can expect that he or she will be left alone for no more than 2-4 hours a day, and many days s/he will not need to be left alone at all. Every so often there will be a day where I need to be gone from the house for longer than this, and if the boarding dates that you need happen to overlap with these longer absences, I will let you know at the time of your request so that we can discuss this further. Dogs who stay with me must get along with my submissive 20 pound dog, and must be respectful towards cats. Due to my dog's small size and my slight stature, rambunctious dogs who are very large and/or powerful are not usually a good fit for our household. I cannot take dogs with any history of aggression towards people or other animals.
Reviews
Katie takes such great care of our kitties! They both love her (even the super shy one). 😻
Katie took such good care of our cats. One of them got very sick while she was caring for them and she went above and beyond.
Katie was absolutely amazing with our kitty Bodhi. She was attentive, thoughtful, thorough and always sent great photos and updates. We really appreciate everything she did and I know Bodhi can't wait to see her again.
Katie is the best, if you are looking for a cat sitter in south Boulder you definitely won't go wrong with Katie!! She is super reliable, sends lots of photos and little notes about my kitties, and communicates really well. She has taken care of my kitties multiple times and they are always excited to see her (which is saying something because they are usually pretty shy). I feel totally comfortable with my cats under Katie's watch and am so so grateful to have someone I trust taking care of them when I am away.

Information Katie W. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know about any fears that your dog or cat may have, as well as how your dog gets along with other dogs and how s/he does off-leash, both on the trail and at the dog park. I am interested in any important routines that you engage in with your pets at home so that I can do my best to continue them in your absence.
A typical day
When your dog stays at my house, he or she will get 2-3+ walks/outdoor play sessions a day. My house backs directly to a park and is only a minute away from the CU South Open Space, so opportunities for outdoor recreation are plentiful and my own dog and I spend a lot of time outside together. We go for hikes in the foothills often and take day trips to the mountains to go cross country skiing when the weather is suitable. We also visit the dog park on occasion. With your permission, your dog will enjoy any or all of these activities. While my backyard is not enclosed by a fence, dogs who are small enough to utilize our upstairs dog door (up to approximately 40lbs) can let themselves out onto our enclosed balcony to use the "porch potty." At bedtime, your dog is welcome to sleep in his or her crate, on a dog bed, in bed with my husband and myself, or wherever s/he feels most comfortable.
