Dog lover looking for new pals!

Pet care experience

I have over 18 years of experience caring for, training, walking (and snuggling!) all different types of dogs. I grew up with four dogs in my home- each of whom had their own unique personality and needs. From a young age, I learned how much joy there is in getting to know each dog as an individual, and figuring out what helps them thrive! I love sharing my life with dogs, and as soon as I graduated college I rescued my own incredible furball-Zetti. (See pics on my profile- she’s adorable!) My favorite things to do with Zetti include going for runs, playing fetch at the dog park, and making homemade whipped cream together. Right now, I have some extra free time in my schedule and I’m hoping to fill it with some more new puppy pals! Hit me up if it sounds like we’ll be a good fit :)

Katie watched over my 110lb sweet beast of a German Shepherd and my home for 4 days. Timber loves to play w dogs so he can be pully and frustrated when he can't greet dogs. I came home to a happy but chill dog and the house was as clean as I left it. She'll be in ourlist of go to sitters in the future.

Katie was a caring, loving dog sitter! She showed genuine photos of her hanging with our pups. We had timely, respectful communication from her. She is highly recommended and I would certainly book with her again!

Katie did a great job watching Gibson. He got lots of love and attention. Great communication throughout our time away. Katie was really flexible and accommodated a last minute change in our plans that requires a few extra days of sitting. We will definitely book with Katie again!

Safety, trust & environment

Building a safe, trusting environment and relationship with pets is my number one priority. As a caretaker, I always ensure that I understand each pets needs, special considerations, and personality. In the home, this means making sure that the space is appropriately comfortable for all dogs and people involved. Outdoors, this means recognizing what dogs might have special needs on the leash, and making sure to avoid triggering situations or uncomfortable encounters with other dogs or people. My ultimate goal is to make sure that you, your dog, and myself each feel confident and safe in the care that I provide.

Information Katie V. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if I can provide any additional accommodations to ensure your pup gets the best care possible. Generally, I like to know a bit about the dog’s medication and allergy needs, as well as their behavior patterns.

A typical day

I love to take my pups and the pups I babysit on long walks around Cal Anderson park, which is right next to my house. There is also the Denny Substation Dog Park and the Plymouth Pillars dog park that we enjoy. When not walking around, I enjoy playing tug of war with some of my pups, and giving them lots of love and snuggles.

I’m a full-time cancer research technician but my schedule is quite flexible! I’m looking to fill spare time doing something I love. I have variable hours, but generally early afternoon or morning works best. Weekend walks and vacation care are also options I provide!
