Pet care experience
Before medical school (the days before Rover!), I ran a dog walking and pet sitting business in California where I grew up. I have raised multiple cats and am now raising my first puppy--a sweet adolescent beagle named Darwin. If you're in Marthas Garden daycare or Ahimsa's puppy classes, there's a good chance we have met!
Reviews
Katie has been so wonderful with Mako! Mako can be nervous in new situations but Katie has always been reassuring and communicative. Plus, Mako loves playing with Darwin, Katie’s pup! I would definitely recommend having Katie watch your dog and we will be return clients for sure :)
Katie sometimes watches my dog Bowen, who has become fast friends with her dog. Katie has been great with my dog, keeping him entertained and exercised! He’s a big fan of her. Also appreciate Katie sending me pics and updates of their time together.

This is a great fit for a dog who would benefit from play as I will have Darwin (adolescent beagle puppy) with me. At home we rest -- bully sticks, chewy bones, dog beds. We walk about an hour twice per day along the water, though we can certainly adjust this. About once per day we sniff around the local garden. Bathroom breaks throughout the day and the dogs are never left alone in the apartment.

Information Katie S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog is reactive. This might not be a good fit as I will have my beagle Darwin along with me. I would love to know their daily routine, what sort of food do they eat and what time? Are they crate trained? Allergies (we have lots of bully sticks and chewy bones)? Recall / is a dog park a good idea or a poor fit for your dog? Do you have any home rules you would like upheld? What is your dog's favorite game? Favorite treat?
A typical day
Darwin is an outgoing and happy intact male beagle puppy (turned 1 year old April 2023). Twinkle is a smart and curious 3 year old tabby cat who tends to hide in the closet. We have crates, beds and lots of toys. There is a dogwalk in the apartment building for bathroom needs. We walk daily the length of Centennial Park and often down to Pike Place or Seattle Center. We head out to Denny Substation, Magnusson and Marymoor dog parks about every week.

Availability
I currently work part time as a pediatrician and pediatric bioethicist; I am doing research in pediatrics this year so have an atypically light schedule. When off work, puppy Darwin and I explore Seattle and its surroundings by foot. We would love to come visit your pup for playtime, or take them with us on a walk or field trip. Daycare, boarding/house sitting is a great fit if the dogs get along well. Darwin will come along for any cares for your pup.
