Vet Assistant Seeking Side Gig!
Pet care experience
I have been a veterinary assistant for nearly 4 years. This not only involved working with dogs and cats but exotics too! Along with assisting in medical care, our facility has grooming and daycare that I have experience in. My current goal right now is to save up some extra money so that I can move to my dream apartment in Richmond. A little over a year ago, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It was a very difficult decision, but I had to cut back my hours at the hospital because my joints were becoming so uncomfortable. That didn't stop me from wanting to care for animals in any way I can!
Reviews
Katie is a true animal lover and is always ready and willing to lend a hand to care for anyone's pets. She loves playing with and pampering dogs and cats. She is responsible and caring. I give her 5 stars!

Upon arrival, I'll greet your pet however they feel comfortable. If it's a dog that crated, I'll get some water and we'll do some stretchies, then go out to walk or play. When we come back, they'll have a treat and socialize for a while. If it's a cat, I'll make sure they've got plenty of food, water, and a clean litterbox. We'll even socialize for a bit if they're not too shy. If it's an exotic, I'll make sure their enclosure is clean, and make sure they've got food and/or water. Will also socialize if they are comfortable enough. Before leaving your house, I'll ensure your pet will be comfortable until you return along with leaving a small momento of my visit!
Information Katie R. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet has any special needs, no matter how small. Whether this be separation anxiety or senior care, it helps me know your pet better so that my visits are as caring as possible.
A typical day
I love being able to know that a dog has not only been physically exercised but mentally as well. I usually like to ask dogs to do small tasks throughout my visits. From practicing leash manners and recall to providing puzzles or kongs so they direct the extra energy into problem-solving.

Availability
Right now I am working 3-4 days a week at the hospital. My schedule is usually pretty consistent, but my availability will be updated on my Rover profile regularly.
