Trust: I am a 30 year old professional writer/artist, and I started this business after my beloved senior dog passed away from cancer. Not quite ready to get another dog but desperately missing our daily walks, I found dog sitting/walking to be the perfect solution. I work from home, which is ideal for boarding. Your dog will be by my side along trails, beaches, and getting cozy on the couch. House sitting: Services do not end in providing your dog with adventure, mental stimulation and unconditional love; I also enjoy cleaning, watering plants, gardening, maintenance, etc. Whatever you need to have done while you're gone, I can provide. Walks: My time is as flexible as my attitude. If your dog enjoys a leisurely walk on a flex-leash, we will go sniffing every corner of town. If they prefer to have a bit of exercise, i'm happy to turn that 30 minute walk into a 10-15 minute jog with a 5-10 minute cool down. If you prefer that Fido practices leash training and heeling, we will spend half of our walk practicing our manners. I can administer medication and offer grooming or bathing if we get muddy on a trail. Experience: I have trained at Ahimsa Dog in Ballard, specializing in dog-to-dog aggression, and have been training dogs since I was a kid. The majority of my experience has come from my own rescue dog, Gizmo, whom I had for ten years. Thanks to Gizmo, I have an extensive amount of experience dealing with dog-to-dog aggression, senior needs, special needs and above all; patience. Training: Friends call me Cesar Milan - but unlike the Dog Whisperer, my secret to great dog training comes from only using positive reinforcement and rewards. It truly works! I love getting to spend time with these unconditionally loving and inspiring creatures.
Reviews
Katie did a fantastic job with our three dogs and our house. The dogs were sad to see her go and the house was well cared for and clean when we returned. We will be using Katie again in the future and so should you. Her communication was prompt and she kept us up to date with pics of the fur kids.
Katie is something of a dog-whisperer. She gets them and they get her. She has had extra behavioral training to be able to communicate and understand the subtle, often misinterpreted needs of a dog. She also has experience with dogs from very young to senior dogs with medical needs. Katie is high energy with a positive and upbeat attitude! She is responsible and everything you could want in a dog walker.
Katie is a dog's best friend and definitely someone a dog would like to take to a park and play with. She loves and understands dog's brains and hearts more than anyone I know. She loves being around them ALMOST more than people, almost... In addition to that, her last dog was a rescue and I know she learned a lot about how to help heal one of the saddest examples of a mistreated and traumatized dog in a compassionate way. She has completed training programs and could write a book on how to get to know a dog, sense their needs before anything gets out of hand and help a pup feel safe, comfortable and happy when they're away from their owner.

Information Katie O. would like to know about your pet
I am partial to Boston Terriers, Boxers and Bernese Mountain dogs. Ask about a discount if you have any of these breeds!
A typical day
We will stroll or jog through my neighborhood in W Queen Anne, or hike the trails of Discovery Park. My favorite is an early morning stroll around Golden Gardens Beach. To introduce dogs to my home, we play a game called "go find it!" - I hide treats around the house for them to sniff and explore. Most dogs pick up on the game right away!
