Home Full Time-Calm and Loving Care

Pet care experience

I'm taking a break from my career as a psychologist, and realized that the best way to maximize my time was to spend it with dogs! I am currently pregnant, so I am taking some time off to 'nest' and to spend some quality time with my furry friends. My dogs are my best friends, and my days are brighter because of them. When I worked full time, my dog sitter was my savior, so I'm happy to provide a valuable service for puppy parents. My schedule is very flexible, so I’ll be able to devote all my time to providing love and attention. I’m a great fit for pooches that don’t like to be alone for too long or maybe just need that extra bit of affection. Although I’ll be the primary caregiver, my husband is always happy to chip in with some of the responsibilities as well! We also live with two of our own pups: Max, a seven-year-old Lhasa Apso, and Zoey, a four-year-old Golden Retriever. Zoey loves to play and Max is a bit more easygoing. Zoey and I worked hard with her trainer and she earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate. She’s also a comfort animal that used to come with me to my office to help provide love to my patients. I am a very active person!I like to workout, be outside, and do yoga. I spend time playing with my dogs and going on adventures to the park. There’s nothing better than having a canine co-pilot along with me on my adventures. I also love to read and cook, and watch movies. I just don’t think I could be any happier than having pups cuddled up to me while I get caught up on some Netflix. I live in Northern Liberties. There are well lit streets and plenty of dog-friendly corners. We live in a three bedroom house with a finished basement and roof deck. We've converted our back patio and roof deck into doggy potty break spots as well! Our home is clean, smoke free, safe, and calm. We've got plenty of room for playing and space to spread out, which is perfect for dogs who like to stretch their legs out a little more often.

Katie was available for a last minute walk, we received a great and thorough report, and our pup was happy when we got home! Thank you for the excellent service, Katie!

We love Katie! She's been such a caring sitter for Rosie and we're thankful to have her in the neighborhood. Rosie really enjoys staying with Katie and her dogs and it's nice to know she's having a great time while we're at work.

When it came time to find a new forever home for our precious Golden Retriver we new we had to find someone very special. We found that person in Katie. The minute I saw her interact with our dog we knew she was special. It broke our hearts to have to say goodbye to our dog but knowing the life she was going to have with Katie eased our pain. Katie updated us constantly on their outings to the dog park, frolicks in the Pacific Ocean and their hikes all over the trials of Southern California. Never once have we regretted our decision to have Katie adopt our Zoey. We know our dog is in very loving, capable hands with Katie and while in her care, your precious companion will be too! We highly recommend this dog lover for your pet sitting needs!

I worked with Dr. Olson while obtaining my Professional Certification in Dog Training Knowledge (CDTK) from CATCH Canine Trainers Academy. At the time Dr. Olson wanted to train her dog Max to potentially become a therapy dog to assist with patients in her personal Psychology practice,. Max is not a dog that is typically trained as a therapy dog, so we had our work cut out for us, not to mention he didn't generally like men. In working with Katie and Max, I learned several things. First that Katie's demeanor and tone of voice have an incredibly calming affect on not only people but especially dogs and there was never any sense of anxiety from her dog Max while training him, as she is patient and dedicated to positive reinforcement techniques. Second that Max was actually a lover of all genders and he and my husband became great buddies. Third that Katie's love and dedication to allowing people and her best furry friend find their maximal potential was crystal clear. She has an undeniable way of creating a loving and safe environment. Pawsitively, Alexandra Erlandson-Gedney, CDTK

Information Katie O. would like to know about your pet

Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

I myself am a very active person, so your pup can look forward to plenty of exercise. I love to go for walks and explore, and I’m happy to introduce your pooch to some new sights and smells! In addition to that, Zoey and Max are great playtime partners and can’t wait to meet some new friends. We’ll all have a great time together! If your pup is a bit more on the easygoing side, we can always just spend more quality time at home or cuddle up together with a good movie. I’m happy to meet your pup at their activity level, no matter what it is.
