I’m Katie and I love dogs. Being around them always affords me a change of perspective and an opportunity to expand my empathy. I know that it can be difficult to be a pup in the city so I want to make sure your pup gets the care, health, and attention they need while their owners are away. Being able to provide the same quality of care and love that you do, is one of my great strengths. I grew up in rural northern California where animals were my life. I often cared for cows, sheep, reptiles, amphibians, and goats, and was lucky enough to have parents that understood how important animal companionship was. Growing up, they made sure I was surrounded by animals, which helped me to learn responsibility, patience, and kindness towards all. We got our first dog when I was four, a rescue mutt who was a mix of many breeds but mostly resembled a Brussels Griffon! I named her Character and she became my responsibility. I learned to feed her, keep her exercised, and clean up after her! I’ve had four other dogs since, all rescues, and being able to care for them, from puppy to senior dog, has been a huge part of my life. In addition to the pups I’ve personally owned, I’ve become the go-to sitter for dogs in my neighborhood and the pups of my friends, and family. Growing up in a rural community, owning a dog and watching others was a great way to get to know your neighbors. Being a dog sitter and walker is a great way to get involved with the local community and get to know new people from around the city. I want to be the best dog sitter I can be, and put owners at ease. When I’m not spending time with animals, I love being outdoors. I try to go camping and to the beach with my girlfriend as much as possible.
