I've taken care of animals ever since I was a child. My family had three cats and a dog when I was growing up: a tuxedo cat named Tiger, an orange tabby cat named Oliver, another tuxedo cat named Athena, and a chocolate lab named Hershey. I have since adopted my own dog, a husky mix named Kelsy, who is now 8 years old but loves to play. Allow me to share some of my experience: I dog sit and house sit for my family members all the time; I'm usually the first one they ask, since they know I enjoy it so much! I've also volunteered at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand, where there were tons of other animals, including dogs and cats. I was in absolute heaven there. I would wake up early every morning to have coffee with the dogs on the platform. I have also volunteered as a dog walker in the past at an animal shelter in Quebec while living there for a brief time.
