Katie and I have been best friends for about 6 years. We were college roommates and one of the few roommates who went on to build a friendship. I am a HUGE dog person and have about 7 at home with everyone in my family. My dog Tessa, is a Rat terrier I found at a shelter. When I first brought her home it took her 2 months to even sit with me in my bed. Then it took her about another 2 to actually spend time with me. So, needless to say Tessa requires a lot of patience when meeting new people. On top of her being slow to trust, Tessa started going blind around 2011, crippling her ability to do basically anything (even though she's miss independent). When I brought Katie around Tessa, I was super surprised when Tessa only barked a couple times and let Katie pet her. Who is this dog and what has Katie done to her? Over time I eventually relied on Katie to help me with Tessa when need be. Whether that be watch her when I went somewhere or go check on her in her kennel when I was worried about her. It's super crazy to see Tessa like someone else as much as she likes Katie, but Tessa sure thinks Katie is her other mom.
