There is a large field near where I live that isn't used and I take my dachshund, Heidi, there to play frequently. If your dog can be off-leash, it's a great place to run and play ball. We'll do that or walk in the morning, then enjoy a warm nap in the sun on my enclosed deck. In the evening, we cuddle on the couch. Heidi is pretty mellow. She has seizures, controlled by medication, so I am familiar with dogs who may need extra care. I've been a dog owner most of my life and love them and take great care with them. I am a therapist and do much of my work over the phone and Skype, so I'm home quite a bit.
