I began training dogs as a house-sitter for INDYCAR drivers in college. Now, after five years of dog and house-sitting for friends, my boyfriend and I recently adopted a dog of our own. She's a 9 month-old border collie mix who loves making friends and has completed a six week course of obedience training. She's smart and social and is on her best behavior when she's around pals. We adopted her hoping she would love camping and hiking as much as we do, and she's been a fantastic outdoor companion! We take her to the dog park daily and live close to the Monon and a city park for long walks. I work less than 10 minutes from home, so after leaving at around 8:30 a.m. I always come home for lunch for a long walk, and then we are both home by 5:30 p.m. for some fetch and play time. Willow is up-to-date on all vaccinations and will continue to make regular visits to the Mass Ave Animal Clinic. She's in tip-top shape now, but after finding her at a shelter in Tennessee last November, we became very familiar with dogs with special health requirements. Though we hope your dog is also a healthy babe, we completely understand dietary restrictions and medical needs. We are not in any way dog whisperers, but we have had a lot of fun teaching little Miss Willow how do silly things like high-fives and "bang." So your fur baby might even come home with a new trick up his or her sleeve. ;)
