Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of a variety of animals throughout my life, from 4H project sheep, dogs, and horses. I also graduated from LBCCs horse management program, and am active in the Australian shepherd community in conformation and obedience. I have experience with small animals as well including reptiles. I’ve raised both rabbits and guinea pigs through 4-h projects in the past, and have had a happy and healthy bearded dragon for the last 5 years. I’m familiar with medications, supplements, and managing chronic diseases in animals and have a keen eye to keep a look out for problematic symptoms or changes.

Katie is the best! She sent me daily updates, handled a crazy situation by taking my dog to the vet, left the house cleaner than when I left and treated my puppies like the fur babies they are ❤️. I highly recommend her and my puppies would too!
Katie was fabulous with our dogs and we highly recommend her. She really knew how to handle the dogs and make them feel comfortable. We have two dogs who are not always easy to watch. One is a nervous dog and the other doesn't like to be separated. But they both had a great stay and came home very happy!
I have known Katie for well over 10 years, and she is my go-to for animal advice and care. In addition to her experience raising and caring for her own cats and dogs, she also has experience managing a wide variety of animals like horses, rabbits, and reptiles, including giving supplements and medications. On top of that, she has participated in 4H, has handled dogs showing conformation and obedience, and even has some experience training for agility and other dog sports! Katie is a knowledgeable, conscientious, and dedicated animal handler & caregiver, and she is the only one I trust to watch my dogs when I am out of town.

I have a fenced yard with two easy going dogs. We can crate as needed, and separate parts of the house as needed. We make sure our dogs get some kind of activity, either working in the house or out on a walk or park outing. I take management and safety very seriously- I watch for how animals are feeling and interacting, and never want to overwhelm them with something they aren’t ready for.

Let me know if your dog is not friendly around others, or is a fence tester or digger. My neighbors who I share a fence line with do have dogs, and want to be proactive if your dogs are barrier reactive. I also like to use a variety of treats in walks and play seasons, so let me know if any diet restrictions or concerns.
A typical day
My personal dogs are wonderful with meeting new dog friends, and also respectful of boundaries. Rigby is loves playing if your dog is up for a game of chase, but will also respects a couch potato lifestyle. For dogs in drop ins and walks, I use lots of treats and praise to help them recognize that I’m a fun person to be around and have a safe walk with.

I’m a middle school science teacher who wants to utilize the extra summer time and breaks to utilize my knowledge and experience with animals. This means my summers, weekends, and breaks are usually open and I’d love to help serve the animals near me.
