Pet care experience
I grew up in a family that loves dogs. For the last 3 years, I've been dog sitting through Rover. I just moved to the area and am looking forward to meeting the local pups. Earlier this year, I was fostering a dog who has a lot of health issues, so I'm used to giving medications to pups that need them, but I don't have any experience with injections. I am looking forward to getting to spend time with other dogs and helping out their owners by taking them on walks, going to the dog park, staying with them overnight, and just loving on them when their people are unable to. I've worked with dogs of different sizes, ages, temperaments and needs and love to meet new ones.

Katie did a great job with our 2 dogs. We had never left our dogs for 2 weeks. I really appreciated that Katie could stay in our home for that time
Our pups were happy and our house clean when arrived home. Katie did a good job caring for our two labs and two cats while we were out if the country.

Katie did an excellent job caring for our two dogs while we were out of town. Having a fiesty Jack Russell and a rambunctious Siberian Husky pup she did a great job of making sure they had plenty of excercise and they did not tear our house apart in our absence. In fact the house was in better condition upon our return than it was when we left. We wouldn't hesitate to have Katie care for our pets again in the future.

I like to get to meet the people and their dogs before agreeing to take care of them. All dogs have different personalities and I think it's important to get familiar with their behavior and to let them get comfortable around me. It also gives me time to get to know their people and get some advice on their walking habits, eating, socializing, etc. I don't have a preference of breed, but I do ask that the dogs I walk or watch are socialized enough where I don't have to worry about them nipping at or trying to attack other dogs we may pass on a walk. Also, due to a previous experience, I do not accept dogs that have resource guarding issues.
A typical day
For walks, I like to get familiar with their usual routines and stick to those, at least for the first time or two that I walk dogs. If they like to play at the dog park, I'll gladly take them with my dog to run around and get their energy out. I love when dogs are playful and have toys or balls that keep them active, especially if they have a fenced in yard.
