Why I love dog sitting Growing up, my family adopted a beautiful German Shepherd mix. She lived until she was about 17 years old, and we were devastated to lose her. It took quite a while for my mother to let go of the hurt and let another dog into our home. After my father passed away suddenly, we finally adopted a Black Lab/English Coon Hound mix. He now resides with my mother, but I still take the time to visit him a few times a week. My husband and I are the proud fur-parents of Jynx, our 4 year old short-haired tuxedo, and we just rescued a 10-month old chocolate lab mix named Charlotte. Besides having dogs and cats in my own home, I have also had the privilege of caring for other families' beloved pets. I nannied for a few years and helped care for their dog, a gorgeous Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Through that family, I met other families in need of in-home dog care. I have cared for dogs of several shapes, sizes, and breeds and I have loved spending time with them all! My experience administering medication I have not had to yet, but I am willing to with proper instruction.
