A few years ago I worked at a pet boarding facility for over a year. I dealt with all kinds of pups (and felines) big and small, across a span of all abilities, energy levels, personalities, etc. I learned how to be versatile and work with a large variety of breeds. I have volunteered at dog shelters as well. Dogs can truly change and impact humans' lives, so I love being around them. As a graduate student, I believe they are genuinely therapeutic to the stresses of everyday living. However, I am not afraid of the "not so glamorous" life that accompanies taking care of pets. I have had dogs (2 or more at a time) since I've been alive. I am more than comfortable with four legged friends, as they have played a pivotal role in my life for as long as I can remember.
