I grew up with a dog of my own and spent a lot of time at horse stables playing with all the dogs that were always running around. I'm that person at the party who politely says hi to everyone, then beelines it to the dogs. Recently, I spent two years volunteering for a dog and cat rescue in Washington, D.C. where I helped coordinate adoptions by interviewing potential adopters, setting up appointments for them to meet the dogs they wanted to adopt and helping out at adoption events. I also over saw the cat foster program and made sure all the rescue cats had a warm home to stay at until they found their forever home. I have always loved dogs, and will someday get one of my own, but working full time and traveling, I know how hard it can be with a dog at home. I'd love the opportunity to help out other people to make sure their pet is getting the attention and exercise they need to stay healthy and happy before making it a full time gig for myself.
