Pet care experience
I am an energetic, hard-working retiree with lots of time on my hands. I currently work part time at an animal shelter but I would really like more 1:1 pooch time! Or kitty time! I love animals and I am very patient with them as they get to know me. I only use positive reinforcement such as treats, praise and pets. I would want to know what your goals are for your pet so that I can reinforce your standards. I am just as happy sitting in the floor with them as I am taking them for a romp in the park. I love it when I can engage your pet and see that they are having fun! I’ll send you pictures! Your pet and I will have fun!

I work with Kathy at the Humane Society and see her around all different animals. One thing that I believe puts Kathy above the others is that besides the daily care of animals (feeding, walking) she cares very deeply about the individual animal and their personality. She wants to get to know each animal and what they like and dislike so she can make each animal's experience as comfortable as possible. I know this would be the same if she was caring for my animals at home. She has experience with medicating animals, working with scared or shy animals, and working with high energy (more difficult) animals.
I have worked with Kathy taking care of dogs and cats. She is very caring and responsible. She puts the needs of the animal first and makes sure they are well taken care of. I would trust Kathy with my own pets and recommend her to anyone who needs animal care.

As the pet-parent, your know what your dog likes and doesn’t like. You know what you allow his to do and to eat. I would reinforce your choices. I like all breeds....chihuahuas to Anatolian Shepherds or Newfies! I like them all. I would like to know if they have things they DON’T like....such as touching their tummy or taking their favorite toy.
A typical day
The activities will depend on what YOUR dog prefers. If there is a park nearby that they like, that’s where we will go. Do they like to chase tennis balls? What about frisbees? Tug of war? Or do they just want to sit in my lap and watch animal planet. It’s all about your pooch!
